"The school has a lot to offer students. It is one of very few undergraduate schools that has a human cadaver lab for learning. It also keeps classroom sizes small so that students are able to learn better and build better connections with their professors and community."

"Western Oregon University is a smaller university with relatively small class sizes. The teachers and professors were all very helpful to me. I never walked away from a class feeling shortchanged. The history program was amazing. My only complaint is that I couldn't continue at Western for my Master's. My graduating class was given the option of writing a thesis paper or participating in a practicum. With either option you work very closely with the history faculty and professors through your entire project. They are super supportive."

"I am reviewing Western Oregon University for its masters program in Education. I received my masters in Education with a focus on English Language Learners. I finished my masters in the spring of 2012. My professors were all very knowledgeable in both the field of education and ESL. They provided me with a lot of excellent guidance in working with students who are new to the English language. They also firmed up my understanding of the theories and practice involved in the art of teaching. I was able to continue teaching and finish my masters program within two years. I would recommend WOU as an excellent school to pursue a masters in Education and ESL."

"Western Oregon University is the best public in-state school in Oregon. It has the best location, the best value, and best educational diversity. It is close to Salem and Portland, but far enough away to not be a distraction. The town is quiet and the campus is small enough for the sense of community. I loved my education and the process to receive my degree."

"Western Oregon University (WOU) is a liberal arts college located in the Willamette Valley. The first thing I noticed about WOU that set it apart from other universities was the diversity of students and accessibility for disabled individuals. The campus houses the Regional Center on Deafness, and more students study American Sign Language (ASL) than Spanish. WOU also has a very strong and active LGBTQ community, as well as several other all-inclusive groups. The College of Education is one of the primary departments at WOU and a new building was recently erected. New and exciting things are always happening within the College of Education! Overall, I always felt safe and supported while attending Western Oregon University. I would certainly recommend WOU to any prospective student, especially those looking for ASL programs or an extremely supportive campus."

"Western Oregon University is a place you can grow. There are so many leadership opportunities and you are not a number on the campus. Teachers are able to mentor you and help you understand what your goals and mission is for yourself and how to achieve them."

"Great small school setting, that allows students to focus on their classes. Small campus setting allows each class to be within walking distance from dorms and off campus housing. WOU offers many student resources for off campus adventures, on campus wellness, and academic assistance."
