"If you can endure a guideless hell for two to four years while pursing your MSW, the only thing Wright State does is provide the accredited piece of paper that opens career doors. The social work program is a disaster: professors quit in the middle of the semester, there is no academic guidance of any sort, and if you are working full-time, despite their claims, you cannot finish this program. There is no coordination between professors because none of them like each other. It's a toxic environment that will take more from you than it gives. MOST IMPORTANTLY: this is NOT a clinical program. There is NO diagnostic instruction or education. The master's level social work licensure exam will ask you about diagnoses and appropriate chemical intervention, but there is NO mention of any of these concepts in this program, and none of the social work faculty will tell you this."

"You should be very careful when choosing an advisor for your graduate program at this university, and specially if you are an international student. Some advisors keep you hostage for years to do free labor for them and they provide you almost nothing, no equipment to make progress with your research. I am still confused why no one did anything about the lack of facilities in there. Where did the grants really go."

"I enjoyed my overall experience at Wright State. The campus is of moderate size, has a great library system, and has an ever growing diverse student population. I found that the number of students per class within ones major was usually small to average size which provided adequate space for critical dialogue and analysis. I had very good instructors, both on the general education level and degree seeking level. Many of them were professionals outside of academia and several had written their own books and materials or were published authors. Wright State continues to build on its infrastructure base and is known for its many outstanding departments: Theater, Medicine, and Engineering just to name a few. I found the course work to be both challenging and rewarding. Wright State has an never ending amount of resources that can help students in navigating their classes and the sometimes hectic life of being a college student. The campus is located near shopping, eateries, and entertainment. The EJ Nutter Center and the surrounding nature reserve area make Wright State a must see campus for any aspiring student."

"A horrendous program, transferring out after wasting 2 years of my life with egocentric professors and unprofessional administration. I would not recommend this school, and specific program, to my worst enemy. All the professors care about is publishing their own work and advancing their career, there is no focus on the students like there should be in a doctoral program."

"I feel like I have a good job in spite of going to Wright State, and not because of it. I got my undergrad here and am currently doing my masters however this is solely because of the low cost of the school. There is a massive budget crisis which profs bring up during class. I feel like a lot of the professors in the business school are seriously lacking in how to treat students professionally. Sometimes it feels like they are trying to show superiority over the students which I find strange. I've gotten in trouble for not calling certain professors "Sir". However, they are not my boss and I pay their salary."

"Horrible school. Would not recommend to my worst enemy. Professors are disgusting and only care about money or what kind of "favors" you can do for them. The administration will shy away from this but everyone on the inside knows the type of sexual assault culture in this place. Check other reviews on Google to verify. They don't care about the individual students which is a shame because in a doctoral program, the success of the student reflects highly on the success of the school. I didn't land an APA internship and now I'm struggling to get any post-doc. In the professional community, their reputation is pretty low- no one is interested in working with Wright State graduates. They don't help with practicum placements nor internships. If you decide to go here, fair warning you will be considered a $ and nothing more. Academics were ok but for the price of tuition, lack of help, and poor student treatment- consider another school."

"I loved Wright State University. The school (buildings, setting, etc) is beautiful. Most of the teachers are excellent and very helpful. The tunnel system is fun and helpful. Everything is close together, easily walkable. The dorms are really nice as well. The biggest drawback I had while there was parking, but this was primarily for my undergrad degree. The Master's degree classes were mostly in the evenings, so parking wasn't as bad then. It is also close to Dayton, Ohio so you have lots of shopping, restaurants and activities around."

"I think the accounting and finance programs at Wright State rival many more expensive schools in the area. They help prepare you for the exams an accreditations you will need but also prepare you for working in the industry."

"Wright State University is a unique institution in Dayton, Ohio that gave me the tools to change the world. My major, Social Science Education, was a unique interdisciplinary program that touched on nearly every facet of the liberal arts. I was encouraged throughout my entire journey to participate in leadership roles and I eventually became the Student Body President of the institution. After receiving my degree I was admitted the the Harvard Graduate School of Education to pursue a M.Ed in Higher Education. This was only possible because of the incredible faculty, curriculum, and extracurricular opportunities at Wright State University."

"Wright State campus life was excellent and getting to classes were very manageable. The teachers were very diverse and felt that they represented the students equally. Few teachers were not able to help students outside of class hours but overall, most could. Living on campus was easier to attend school because parking is an issue even if you have a parking pass. I collected almost more parking tickets than classes completed for my major. Wright State made it possible for me to graduate early because they offered multiple classes over summer and winter break. Few colleges could offer the variety over school breaks. Most important lesson I learned, was keeping track of my DARS report to ensure I was completing the correct classes because the counselor was not always there to help when needed. This includes participating in internships because I was not job ready and it took over two years to be employed in my field I gained a degree in. Since I was from out of state, I should have taken on more networking skills and opportunities. I would say overall my experience with Wright State is positive and it fit my schedule perfect because I was also employed when I attended college. Offering online classes along with campus classes made it easier to adapt and accomplish my goals. Last I was fortunate to be able to have many well rounded electives to take for my Psychology degree. I dont like to limit myself and like to learn and explore different fields of psychology and I was able to do so at Wright State University."

"Great school and community. Professors are very helpful. They provide top notch education. However, I picked a field with poor career potential for the Dayton area. Not the fault of the school. They provided everything I needed to succeed at school. The Dayton area just needs more science jobs."

"Wright State University is a great place for people of all ages to get their degree. It is truly a place where each student feels comfortable and at home. Like most schools there are a lot of negatives about attending Wright State. For example, if you are looking for a place to really meet people, gain a social life, and feel that school spirit, then WSU is not the place for you. Wright State is more for commuter students who are looking to save some money, while earning a quality degree. I will say that every professor I had at Wright State was really helpful, and truly wanted each student to succeed. On the other hand, academic advisors are awful. I had 3 different advisors in my time at Wright State and each advisor was not very helpful. All in all, I really enjoyed my time at WSU because I wanted a place where I was comfortable at, and could receive a quality education. I received my Bachelor's Degree from WSU this spring, and was ecstatic to find out they are offering me a scholarship to attend their online MBA program."

"I enjoyed my time at Wright State University. I thoroughly enjoyed the social work program and would recommend it to others interested in the social work curriculum. I felt completely safe on campus and enjoyed the after class activities. The social work program has built up even more now especially with the MSW program. Totally recommend."

"Wright State's Psychology Undergraduate Psychology program may be underrated. They are known for their Graduate program but the undergraduate psychology students are also taught by the same Graduate professors. This interaction between (Bachelors/Masters) instructors has prepared me well for Graduate school because that was the intent of most classes on the syllabus."

"College helps you become a much more rounded person and allows you to experience diversity. I will never regret going, however trade schools also allow you a well paid career without the debt. While I don't directly use the skills from classes of my major, my ability to reason, gather information and conduct research as a result of college, helps me tremendously."

"There is a lack of care for students in certain particular fields of this program. Students are not the focus of the work, especially of the chair of the degree. There is a lack of student support and no mentorship. Learning is not a focus, simply jumping through hoops to get student money seems to be. Have even met others who did not choose this school because of the attitude of the faculty when they visited. AVOID."

"Overall, I have had an awesome experience at Wright State University. The classes are interesting and fun and the staff is great and approachable. The only trouble I have had with this school is the financial aid department. Other than that, they are wonderful."
