Simmons University Rankings by Salary Score™

When I graduated the Simmons undergraduate nursing program over 10 years ago I attributed some of my success in Boston as an RN to my nursing program. This is no longer the case. I went back to simmons for grad school thinking I would have the same positive experience and outlook that I did as an undergrad but this was very very wrong. Do not waste your money here, the programs at Regis or even UMASS are a fraction of the price and are held in a higher regard to their programs. Simmons has greatly depreciated,... Read More as both a recent adjunct faculty member and student, I would strongly recommend you look elsewhere. Many of my classmates are very displeased with the campus and online MSN programs. They advertise clinical placements but DO NOT BE FOOLED, they cannot deliver as promised and it delays your clinical start and is honestly an added stress, I was better off finding my own (which I had to do last minute). Heed my advice, save your money, get a better education elsewhere.

Only pro is some good teachers and great clinical placements at prestigious hospitals in Boston that's great for networking. **Highly unsatisfied for many reasons. They charge an insane amount of tuition (that increases each year) and other stupid expenses but the cost does not reflect the quality. Didn't have a professor for the first 2 weeks for one of my courses Fall 2022. Registrar can't do their job - at least in nursing dept. - doesn't solidify final exam dates until 1 month from when final exam dates... Read More are supposed to happen. They claim that we are grad students (thus excluded from certain perks) then magically deem us undergrad students when they please - i.e. forcing us to have to take final exams during undergrad session when we are supposedly grad students. PICK ONE. If we can't have a break then at least let us take finals on the last day of class to have some break before the next sem? Nope. They could care less. Barely gave students a break from spring sem to summer sem and that has taken a huge toll on my mental health. I get that this is accelerated but they don't have principles. They had the transition from spring to summer semesters originally 2 weeks spaced apart (which would've been a great mini break before another vigorous sem) then sneakingly changed it to less than 1 week apart on their website without notifying anyone when people already planned out their schedule months in advance. Simmons is very unprofessional and they don't take action when feedback is presented. It's all lip talk. Do better. I regret applying and committing to this school. Do your research and find a more organized school program b/c Simmons fails in all aspects except for clinical placement (pre-licensure at least). Every semester there's some change/revision that gets sprung up but no one knows what they're doing or how to navigate and it really shows. There's more to be said but I'll save it for the next time Simmons really sets me off. :)
