I want to tell you guys about my experience with language institute at Troy University. I studied here a year and half, and I enjoyed studying here with my teachers, especially with ms. Jones. She is so kind and friendly with international students, and she is an amazing teacher. In Troy I met ms. Wood, and she has helped me a lot. She was my teacher in level one and two. My roommate was my teacher in level one and two, and he is so helpful. In level three, I talked to mr. Noe, and I told him I don’t want... Read More to study with mr. Cooper because I don’t understand. In level four I didn’t study with him, and all my grade was perfect. In level five he put mr. Cooper to teach me again, and I told him please I don’t want to study with him because I don’t understand with him. He said to me other teachers have other program, and mr. cooper will be your teacher this level. In his class when I asked him to explain more, he always said read the box in your book is very clear. I told him, if I want to study from my book, I will never came to the US for studying. I came here to find someone who can help me to improve my language not saying study by yourself. After I took the last test, I asked him you didn’t explain this part for me, and when I asked you to explain it more to me, you said read the box by yourself. After long discussion, he said to me you are not my favorite student. After he said to me that I left his class to find someone to help me. I was looking to mr. Noe, but he was in the meeting. After he finished his meeting, he came to me, and we talked in other class not in his office. I told him about what happened to me, and he said in the US a teacher can say that for his students. Also, he said to me you don’t like mr. Cooper, and I told him no I never said that for my teacher, but I don’t understand with him. He said same meaning if you say you don’t understand for your teacher that means you don’t like him. I told him I didn’t say that. After this discussion, I felt so bad because he was so rude. I talked to international office, but they said to me we can not help you because mr. Noe is higher than us. It was strange. I respect this university, but I will not recommend anyone to study here because no one can tell you the truth in this university. Overall, I enjoyed studying with ms. Wood, Ms. Jones , Anastasia, Savannah, Emily, Percy, Trey Tallant, and Marcus. This is my experience here. Hopefully, mr. Noe and Cooper will take course about how they can respect international students. I hope you enjoyed reading my experience.

I attended this University for Undergraduate and Graduate. I had two issues with professors in Undergraduate. One professor never attended class and decided that I deserved a D in the class when I learned nothing, and when I complained the Dean of the school said he would always side with his colleagues and when I said I would be asking for a refund for the class and I would be taking to to Jack Hawkins, miraculiously my grade was changed to a B because he didn't want me and my classmates to go complain about... Read More this issue to his superiors. The next issue with a professor was one who refused to help, in an education class she refused to give us feedback on lesson plans just an X over the assignment, without telling us anything was wrong or how to fix it. This dean also said she didn't have to give feedback and we are college students and we should be able to figure it out (in our first education class). Graduate school complaints I started graduate school prior to EDTPA being in affect, so when it came to everyone having to do EDTPA I knew nothing of the program and when I asked for help I was told we cannot help you..... On a program that I knew nothing of. Also, I asked for help never received help and then was told I didn't ask enough for help. I guess these people expect you to get on your hands and knees and BEG them. Even though its their job. I am so disappointed in the experiences that I had at Troy University. I let the issues with undergrad slide, but the issues in graduate school I cannot I am very disappointed that I spent my money on this university and wasted my time. If you are someone who ask questions do not expect an answer from the professors at this University they are useless. All the things they said were necessary of the things they hounded me about and failed me because of do not apply in the real world. They also hire employees who have no experience with actual teaching in (grade schools) in their programs. Student advisors (people who observe teacher candidates) do not provide effective feedback and just discuss things behind your back. I would never advise people to attend this university. I have been very successful in my teaching career (no thanks to the crap teachers, advisors and administrators at this university), and when people ask where I went to school I just tell them I went to a school in Alabama. Because my mother always said if you have nothing nice to say do not say anything at all. The best experience I had at this University wasn't even at this university, it is when I was able to study abroad.
