"Absolutely awful. Communications go unanswered for weeks at a time. Class requirements aren't included in the syllabus. Don't find about about "requirements" until you've submitted assignments. Structured so you have to keep paying tuition and never quite meeting hidden objectives. Easily the worst education experience I've had. DO NOT GO HERE."

"I recently received my MS in Human Services from Capella. I found the professors to be very efficient with grading, responding to email, and very understanding of life situations. The Professor I encountered were very respectful and compassionate about their students success with the program. The academic advisers were also very helpful, as I have had to consult with them on a few occasions. I will admit that the program is a little more costly than others, however, I made the choice to attend, with this in mind. Therefore, I cannot complain about it. My courses were 10 weeks long, and I only took one class per quarter. The financial aide department could benefit from customer service training and honesty. I think, aside from the cost, that Capella is an excellent school to pursue a MS in Human Services."

"So here is an honest assessment. First, the class with the professor wasn't bad, but they make you pay for a non-credit class to start. This is a bogus way of forcing you to pay more money at Capella. If you're admitted there is no reason to take an extra class. Second, I had an outside scholarship. They proceeded to hold that money long after it had already been sent to them, and long after my tuition had already been paid. This is where the main issue began. Even though I showed them that the money had been sent to them electronically they continued to deny they had received it. Finally someone from their FA office admitted to having received it when I said they had, but that it had not processed and it could take several weeks to process. After going through days of trying to get them to release money that was at this point 100% owed to me since there were no outstanding charges I get this woman from the admissions department who was a manager. She begins to talk about my personal life and my child. Long story short, they released my funds after I was able to learn of a supervisor and manager in the FA department and receive their contact information. Once I had that and made multiple calls the funds were released...rather quickly. I withdrew from the class and school as soon as the funds were released. I had intended to go through their entire program, but this ridiculous behavior and the woman discussing my personal life was too much."

"The beginning process to apply was even brutal. The man I spoke to to select a major was helpful but once I decided to apply, it was a mess. Passwords and usernames didn't work. Online support was not helpful. They could not even figure out my login issues and had to email me that they will reach out later once its resolved, which wasn't swift. This happened multiple times. It was a mess. If this is what I experienced in the beginning, the actual classes must be a nightmare electronically. I decided to select another school."

"WARNING! DO NOT GO TO THIS SCHOOL (CAPELLA") ! ENROLL / ATTEND a NOT-FOR-PROFIT (REAL) UNIVERSITY ! CAPELLA UNIVERSITY is a scam, and is BEING SUED (and our aim is to have CAPELLA shut down, forever!), for unethical and unfair business practices, the university and its faculty not adhering to its own graduate degree program students manual (only to keep its students enrolling quarter, after quarter costing its students an excessive amount of tuition), degree program stall tactics, unrealistic and unfair student tuition, false promises, poor communication during active course participation, student loan/government lending fraud, in addition to many other complaints. In fact, we are in touch with a FORMER CAPELLA UNIVERSITY EMPLOYEE who is willing to testify on the dissertation process, whereas the former employee is willing to testify that, CAPELLA UNIVERSITY'S Doctoral Programs are a fraud". FACTS: Capella University was the subject of an Education Department audit, which revealed that the school overcharged lenders and this department by over a half million dollars. Capella University spends an unusually high portion of revenue on marketing and a relatively small amount on instruction (for its exclusively online program). Most instructors are part-time and accreditation could be an issue in the near future. Capella University appears to maintain aggressive enrollment goals for the more than 300 recruiters it employs. Many former students of Capella University have been plagued with high debt to income ratios after taking out student loans from this for-profit university. Capella University was recently questioned for having a high withdrawal rate amongst students in its programs and for spending an unusually high percentage of revenue on marketing. (SOURCE: www.processmystudentloans.com/capella) CAPELLA UNIVERSITY information is cited below, where such websites state, students don't mind a non-APA degree, and also citing that CAPELLA UNIVERSITY states, graduates earn more income upon their graduating from its university - which is false! Additionally to its PhD/PsyD Doctoral Programs, CAPELLA UNIVERSITY graduates cannot even practice clinical psychology, as its psychology doctoral programs are also not recognized by the APA in many, if any states a requirement of course, necessary for a graduate to permit a graduate to earn state board-certification or ability to practice psychology same issue as stated here within regarding Argosy University (a lawsuit Argosy University lost). Below, I quote, from THE STATE OF MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF HIGHER EDUCATION (state dept official representatives), after their having received MANY complaints, from MANY students, with one representative from the DEPARTMENT even stating, "students arguments have merit", and stating, "CAPELLA IS NOT AN ETHICAL UNIVERSITY, BECAUSE ALL THEY WANT IS MONEY". JOIN "our" (70+ learners - as of 06.2017) Legal Pursuit / Justice against CAPELLA UNIVERSITY, for: Unethical and unfair business practices, the university and its faculty not adhering to its own graduate degree program students manual (only to keep its students enrolling quarter, after quarter costing its students an excessive amount of tuition), degree program stall tactics, unrealistic and unfair student tuition, false promises, poor communication during active course participation, student loan/government lending fraud, in addition to many other complaints. In fact, we also have a Learner in our group who is aware of an 'expert witness' willing to testify on the dissertation process, and such former Learner is aware of a former CAPELLA UNIVERSITY employee willing to testify that, CAPELLA UNIVERSITY'S Doctoral Programs are a fraud". CAPELLA is being sued for: 1.) Conversion; 2.) Breach of Contract; 3.) Interference With Contractual Relations; 4.) Breach of the Implied Covenant of Good Faith and Fair Dealing; and 5.) Unjust Enrichment. Student complaints indicate dissatisfaction with the instructional quality at Capella. In a letter to the President of Capella from HLC, the companys accreditor expresses concern regarding academic quality: [This students] letter is troubling in light of two other recent complaints... These complaints, taken as a group, suggest dissatisfaction on the part of at least some graduate students with the quality of the interaction they have had in the institutions core academic programs and an unwillingness on the part of the institution to review and respond to the potential customer service issues these complaints suggest. "My Capella experience was a good one. I have no regrets with my selecting Capella as the university to pursue my Ph.D. It was an extremely rewarding experience. I must say, I truly believe upon completing my Ph.D, I had transformed and grew so much throughout my scholarly journey. The professors, instructors and staff were supportive and encouraging. I have no problem recommending my amateur to anyone who want to pursue a degree. V/r Dr. SKA"

"I enrolled at Capella University in June of 1999. I Graduated in 2004, and I am extremely happy that I was able to find professional growth. "My educational experiences began in a classroom setting, however, I found a profound dislike for the environment due to students talking out of turn, snoring during class, or the instructor talking or teaching at a high pace. I entered Capella University at a short stint with another on-line university. I have been at this educational institution for a few years and I am so please with the structure of the university. The staff is excellent and well trained, the course work is always in alignment with the syllabus and additionally, there are visual educational tools available for the students. Capella provide tutoring services, assistance with employment, and many other resources to assist their students in becoming productive and contributing members of society. I always recommend Capella University to friends and family who are interested in furthering their education. I have continue on into the Master program and I am pleased. After this journey, I will continue to pursue my education at this institution."

"Do Not go to this school . You have to take more classes than other institutions, which means that the school receives more money. At Capella for the Masters Programs you have to take about 16 courses in order to get a degree. The university has 4 quarters Summer Spring Fall And Winter......For each quarter you take 2 classes ( which are 6 week courses) which equals to about $4500 in tuition and you normally receive a $1800 refund. so they get 4500 and you get about 1800 in a refund. But at other institutions they have it to where you only need 8 classes to receive your degree .At other institutions they also have 4 quarters winter summer fall and spring...but at other institutions you only have to take 1 class in each quarter ( classes are about 12 weeks). But at other institutions the school only charges you about the same $2500 but you get a larger refund of about 4000 minimum. so you do the math at Capella you take more classes which allows them to get more money and you receive only 1800 refund checks per quarter or you can go to another institution where you take less classes and receive about $4000 plus in a refund each quarter. I know that its not about a refund..but id rather go to a school that's gives me more than they take."
