Grand Canyon University Reviews - Bachelor's in NursingSee reviews of all programs at Grand Canyon University
Do not waste your time with this RN-BSN program. The University manipulations the program adding classes and combining them so that they can get mire money from them. They do not care about you, your education, or the quality of their online instructors.
Great school and well organized. Loved the way the instructors treated us as students very respectful and also grades were turned in at timely manner. I feel that this was a great pick and I was able to work full-time and still apply myself with a great GPA score. I refer this school to anyone that is new and old to online learning.
I had to withdraw from the program due to a life event. They demanded I pay a huge amount of money to leave. I was making payments of $100 a month because thats what I could afford. They sent my account to collections anyway. If youre not rich they will distroy your credit. Please dont make the same mistake I did. Go to a university that cares about students and will work with them financially. I will always regret trying to better my education through GCU.
RN to BSN program. Mostly writing without real current application. Allowed an instructor that was very degrading to ASN nurses with a personal ax to grind with ASN nurses to be a professor in the program. Complaints were not addressed. Given this instructor was allowed to continue and in the capstone 490 class for graduation allowed for continued discrimination and degradation of mature ASN nurses pursuing a BSN degree to graduate. This is an antrosity to the development and growth of nurses in their pursuit of higher education and clearly against the ANA goals. Other professors were great and unfortunately the deliberate discrimination allowed of this one professor cannot allow me to recommend GCU. Discrimination of any type cannot be tolerated. This is from an A graduate regardless of the discrimination. Others were not so blessed. It left me distrustful of education institutions of religion nature.
PLEASE DONT ATTEND THIS SCHOOL A BUNCH OF SCAMMERS. All they care about is money. They could care less if you excel or fail they just want there money. I dealt with M. H. and J. B. They charge $2000 per class and do not care about anyones finances or financial hardship. They dont try and help you at all especially if you have things going on working full time kids etc. please dont waist your money on this school they preach about Christianity but just want your money .
Very disorganized. Found out I made the Presidents list...two months after I graduated on cheap copy paper I can't even frame. Got put on probation for posting a paper I wrote from a previous degree at another college saying I was promoting plagiarism. The instructors are hit or miss, my last one set everyone into groups for a group project that didn't exist and wouldn't answer questions and kept talking about deliverables and keeping it simple. Will not be going there for my MSN or recommending it to anyone else! Beware!
My name is Alexa K. I am a 23 year old graduate student with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Grand Canyon University. When I was a child I wanted to be a veterinarian. I was fascinated with animals! When I was in high school, two of my grandparents passed away with the assistance of hospice and compassionate registered nurses. After such a positive impact the nurses left on me, I had my heart set on becoming a registered nurse. Through a program offered in high school, I was able to become a certified nursing assistant. I worked in a long term care facility throughout my four years of college. Shortly after I graduated, I took the state boards and became a registered nurse. I have been working as a registered nurse for two years now. I absolutely loved Grand Canyon University! They were such an incredibly fun four years! I met my best friends that will be my lifelong friends. I ended up living with them on campus sophomore to senior year. The dorms were great and the pools were refreshing! I loved the class sizes and my professors. They were always available to talk to and provide help with studies. Nursing school was stressful and our professors knew that. They were great with helping us cope and de-stress. I loved that Chapel was offered on a weekly basis. This was also a great way to help take my mind off of studies. The university was always great at having fun events planned for us to attend. GCU has expanded so much since I have graduated. I am sure they have even more to offer now! I recommend GCU to everyone if you want to have a great college experience.
Honestly, the nursing program was very disorganized. I had a lot of great experiences with individual professors and students but the overall program was unpredictable and stressful. It did teach me what kind of nurse I wanted to be and the kind I didn't want to be. It also prepared me to be aware of the constant changes in the medical field and made me a more flexible person as far as change goes. I was able to get a great job soon after graduation and I do give credit to much of the networking I was able to do while attending this school. Now I am pursuing my Doctoral degree in nursing and look forward to advancing my career.
I received my BSN from Grand Canyon University through their fast track program on their Scottsdale campus. The small class sizes were amazing and allowed the professors to take interest in each student throughout the program. I believe I was adequately prepared for my nursing career after completing this program. I have and will continue to recommend students to this program.
The nursing program at Grand Canyon University is a fast pace hands on learning experience. The core curriculum provides a Registered Nurse with the foundation to take care of patients upon exiting the program. During my course work, there were many opportunities to engage in real life experiences that translated well into the 'real' nursing world. I would recommend GCU to any entering nursing student.
