"After reading some of the horror stories on this review site I have to share mine too and try to save some good hardworking people the agony that I have had to experience for TEN YEARS. I wanted to expand on a medical assistant associates and needed to work full time so decided to try an online training. Unfortunately, I chose to try this "school" to get the training and make an honest living. At first the classes seemed normal until I had to sit for a proctored exam and prepare for a clinical assignment. The assignment notice was never sent to me and I wasn't assigned to a clinical site, all after I decided to sign student loan documents to pay for the rest of the "program". Right after I signed the papers the communication stopped and I had to stop the classes because without the clinical I wasn't able to finish the program. I know now after ten long years of harassment and constant calls and threats that they just wanted to claim the student loan debt and make me pay for it. I just want good people trying to better their lives to stay away from this "school" and to warn them that this will ruin their lives instead of elevating it. This is just plain fraud, and I pray that people will listen and stay away."

"I was very interested in the Respiratory program through this University but I did look further and found that they are on probation through the COARC accreditation body. I brought this up to Ronald Hehn and right from the start he was very rude and was quickly to push me away from the program. First off saying o Colorado is so hard to place on a site and that there is a year wait list to get a site and that it's is so hard to get into this program. I currently attend Colorado State University and have Honors so for him to push me away like that was so rude and because I found that probation they are on.The worst costumer service ever. I do not recommend this university."

"This was an awesome experience! I love the staff as well as all the business offices there! I was able to sail through with flying colors because I had a great team of professionals and fellow students to aid me. Also the material and study resources are top notched and offer everything a student can need! I am a husband and father of 8 and I was able to complete the course with few interruptions! I recommend INDEPENDENCE UNIVERSITY to anyone who is looking to better themselves and their career! Thank you IU!"

"Do NOT, I repeat, DO NOT go anywhere near this 'University' I have had nothing but trouble EVERY TIME I have dealt with them. NOW, I am going into default on Federal loans that they specifically told me, in more than 1 way, to not only disregard, but to ignore. When I FINALLY get a human to respond to me, I have less than 1 month to get on some sort of track before my credit is shredded! The icky-sweet, condescending voice just kept on assuring me that I was free & clear with THEM financially. I already know this. What I didn't know was the FEDERAL loan that would hound me ( I never dealt with this situation in any of my other education seeking endeavors)."

"I must say, I have had experience with Independence University/Stevens-Henagar since it was called California College back in the 90's. I have had a variety of experiences both good and bad. I actually fired them MANY times, I went through 2 student advisors a month for a while. But, I persevered and they stuck by me the entire time. It was truly like a family for me, dysfunctional at times, but I was comfortable openly complaining about anything that bothered me, even at 3am. I recently completed my BAS degree and was on the Dean's List through the entire program, and I was pretty frantic some of the time. Not easy. I have to say, it is worth it in the end. I am typing this on the very laptop I received through the course. Very pleased."
