I am currently attending IU for healthcare management. The instructors are great and always willing to help. If a problem occurs, let them know and they'll get it fixed as soon as they can. 1 thing I dislike about this college is, you get grants etc and they apply all the left over money toward future stuff. If money is left over, you should be able to get what's left over to help with bills etc. I'm not lazy by all means but if I am gonna pay this money back when I graduate, let me have a choice. After calculating up, they will receive an extra 13 grand from me.
I am currently attending Independence University. I have not had any problems or concerns. The instructors are there to help you when you need help. They offer lots of services to help you to achieve your degree. Good place to start the rest of your life.
I have been attend IU since September 2014. I have never had a major issue and what problems I have had have been resolved immediately. The instructors are professional, my AD has been there for me when I needed him. Ignore all the drop outs complaining, they want everything handed to them. With IU you have to work for it and it is hard work. My 3.91 GPA didn't come by luck, it's come by work. The school gives you lots of tutor options and the instructors have always been there for extra guidance, but they won't do the work for you. So if you are unwilling to earn your degree then this isn't the school for you.
I would like to recommend this school for you hard working people who feel you don't have time. I'm a testimony of that yes you do ! Yes you can. Yes, there are times when it get hard, but success comes with a lot of turmoil. You should not give up. With this school I feel that I can do my work and work full time and take care of myself.
I started school at Independence University in October of 2015. I was 17 years old at the time and recently turned 18 of May 13, 2016. This college is actually pretty great. I have learned so much. The instructors are great and always help you when you need it. I will have my degree in May of 2017. The classes have actually excited me a lot to go into my career field.
Let me start by saying that I also received my Associate Degree in Graphic Arts in 2013 from IU, took a year or so off, and now I'm going full force for my Bachelors in Graphic Arts/Information Design, and I expect to graduate in Jan 2017. I would also like to add that I am a lifelong learner, having been in school before now. My point is that I've experienced other online schools and none of them come to close to the positive experience I've had at IU. Yes, the work is hard at times. It does require time management skills, but the instructors understand that life happens, and they are willing to work with you as much as you need them to. The instructors are some of the best in their respective fields. They are NOT part-timers just trying to fill up their days. These guys know their stuff and thanks to better screening by the school, can articulate their knowledge effectively to their students. This is essential in order to receive the full benefit of the education. I can't say enough about how well I've been treated and the respect I've received each time I've contacted the school. If you're serious about your education and want to learn, I urge you to put IU to the test. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.
I started attending Independence University in January 2016. I am now finishing my first week of my 5th mod. I love this school. I received my tablet quickly. I did run into some problems with it and had to contact IT Support. I found they are MUCH easier to contact through the live chat. That is instantly where as you have to wait for a call back by phone. I honestly haven't tried the email option since live chat worked. Anyways, I had to send my tablet in for repairs. They pay for the shipping labels. They checked out my tablet and it was defected so needed to be replaced. From the time I sent it to them and received a new one it took 5 days. I thought that was rather quick. Especially since I was assuming it would take at least 2 weeks. So far every class my teachers call me half way through the mod to let me know I am doing a great job and to keep it up. I also had dealt with a family personal issue and feared I would fall behind. I emailed both of my teachers ASAP letting them know I hadn't given up. Since I kept them informed they allowed me to turn in those assignments late without any deductions. No you do not receive a refund check because they use your grants and loans towards the whole tuition. They also make sure you are supplied with everything you need to succeed. All the software you will ever need for your ENTIRE degree is included. I think they have always been extremely friendly and I have no complaints as of now, and I don't see that changing. As I read through these comments I see so much negativity and I understand everyone has different experiences. I personally would recommend this school to anyone. If you can be self disciplined and determined then you can be a success through this school.
I started at this school in October 2015, and so far I love it. It is hard work, but so is any college you go to. The instructors and school staff are very helpful. They are constantly there to help; which is great because there is a lot of work to do each week. I think it's a great school.
Would NOT recommend. They told me that I pretty much would only have to pay the minimum for school (about 6,000). They hiked the price to 11,000. Here's the problem: I tried to drop when the teachers stopped assisting me about 4 months in. They completely ignored me and made me stay in school for 7 months afterwards. By the time they dropped me, I had a 1.67 and now I am in $11,000 debt. Not only that, they say they are accredited but other schools say otherwise. I haven't been able to pay due to not being able to work and they won't give me my transcripts so I can go to another school (where I will be working and will be able to pay off the bill). They don't help you with payment plans and they don't care if you are struggling. I'd strongly advise against this school.
I would not recommend this school at all. Especially if your going for science degrees. When this college said it was accredited in Respiratory Therapy classes, I thought I was able to transfer them to a nearby college. Unfortunately none of the colleges near by my home, accepts the transcript from the classes I took for nine months. Now I am paying off a student loan that never even got a degree for. So please be aware when colleges say it's accredited, it only means that if you finish through them only.
