Keiser University Reviews
Student & Graduate Reviews (212)
So far I have been attending Keiser for a little over a year and I have had no problems yet. Yes its expensive but that's because the teachers are giving you a very high quality education.
Trust me it is a HUGE SCAM AND WANT YOUR MONEY I'm 18 just graduated high school this year only been with Keiser for a month now and I'm going to withdraw they play around with your financial aid and scholarship money have me in two intermediate classes I do not need because I passed my proficiency math exam everything is all screwed up and on top of that my monthly payments are 101.50 each month which I was mislead about told it will go down to 50.00 a month I can go on and on about my issues but just know You will regret attending Keiser they are very expensive and unorganized financial aid advisors
I am very pleased so far. Even though it is more expensive it fits into my schedule of being a single mother and working full time. I find the excelled courses can be a bit intimidating but it's nice to only juggle one class at a time. I can't wait to finish up with my prerequisite courses and enter the nursing program.
I attended Keiser College in 2005-2006 my last class was 10/2006, my sister died and I got into a terrible car accident so I was out of class for a while and when I was thinking of going back they told me that they raised tuition. So, I decided to go to finish my AA elsewhere that was much more inexpensive. I am trying to get back into school at a University to get my BA and was told by the transcripts office that I was unable to get my transcripts because I apparently owe them 8585.35!! Now how could this be?! I had financial aid, two student loans that I am currently paying on fro just the year that I attended Keiser! So why did I owe them so much?! I went and talked with them personally where I was told that I owed this amount because I was enrolled in 2007, so that amount was my tuition that was never paid, and that I could get my transcipts once a check had been made out to Keiser to pay the amount! I was RED! How in the world could I be being billed such an amount when I quit going in 2006?! Well, they rolled me right on into the new semester without my knowledge! I never even recieved a bill for the amount, let alone a call saying I owed them money.. Now I am trying to work out a payment arrangement or a debt settlement agreement with them and they are being nearly impossible to deal with, on a debt that I truly do NOT even OWE!!! I feel like Keiser University is a complete rip off and a scam of a school who will extort their previous students for however much money they can! They gave me a ledger that was supposed to show me line by line what the fees were, and its kind of comical to me when I am getting a charge for tuition, then several charges for "educational fees" now I am pretty sure that tuition should cover said "educational fees". It should be illegal for these schools to be allowed to do what they do to unforseeing victims who are just trying to better their lives!
I am posting this for anyone who is considering attending Keiser University's online program in the hopes that they will consider other universities so they won't end up in the situation I am in currently. I just completed my business degree program with Keiser and come to find out that they will not release my transcripts nor my degree until I pay them a $2k balance which my student loans / financial aid did not cover while I was in school. This would be okay, if this had been communicated to me when I was solicited by their aggressive telemarketers to attend Keiser back in early 2011. What these telemarketers tell you is that you are required to pay $50 per month while you are attending school and that student loans and financial aid will cover the rest of your tuition. Now I'm in a position where I owe $60k in student loans which I'm going to have to start paying on in 6 months, but cannot pursue a decent paying job because they will not release my degree or transcripts. The other thing I would like to mention is that nobody from the school will get back with you if you have a concern. This has happened to me frequently over the last 3.5 years. I emailed the dean on this matter and she just ignores it and will not even reply. If you are considering attending Keiser, looking back, I would suggest you look into other schools that are more affordable. For the most part, the instructors are decent, but now that I'm finished there, I feel like I paid for a Cadillac and received a Chevy Cobalt.
Do not sign up for diagnostic medical sonography! First off yes its a great career but thats if you actually get a job. The market is way oversaturated but they of course wont tell you that when you sign up. I am registered and have been out of school 6 months and havent even gotten an interview. Oh and the financial aid dept is the worst I mean worst non functioning dept ever. They wont even give my dipolma because I have a balance because they " forgot to send my pell grant" and then had the unprofessional nerve to say "its our bad". Btw they still havent sorted out the situation Im a VA student way to serve the veterans!
I received an AS degree in Sports Medicine and Fitness Technology in Nov 2013. I still can't find work after applying for 20+ jobs in my related field. I could have saved $36,000 and got a certified personal training certificate, because that is all this degree allows you to get! I am forced to continue my education and get a BS in order to find a descent job. The school should also give you along with this degree a certificate for personal training. I did not want to be a trainer.
Keiser was an excellent choice for me! Yes it was expensive but what school isn't? A community college where you have to wait years to get into the program? Good luck with that! I loved my teachers and my class was small so everyone that I graduated with we are still in contact. The school was clean, the curriculum was easy to follow. I passed my registry the day after graduation!
I see there are a lot of negative reviews! First off, I'd like to mention that Keiser isn't for everyone! You have to have the right mindset with the ability to go at a fast pace. I'm currently in my second month and I have no complaints. The students and instructors are all very personable. Yes, the tuition is high. If it wasn't that high the quality of instructors would be terrible. I'm fine with paying a high price if it means getting a quality education. Some of the books are pricy, but many can be purchased used. I love Keiser!
It a rush to get you in but no rush to help you whenever you have questions that are unanswered make a visit sign some papers you can start school in less than two weeks they care 0 about student actually making it all they care about is money admission counselor Rena seals is a big fat liar !!!!!! Don't trust anything these people tell will elaborate more on what occurred once I am done with this semester & they can mess me up in any way not too sure if they view these reviews....
