"Overall the school provides a good education, and they have some really great instructors with the school. Unfortunately, The campus I attended was terrible with financial aid, and it is very difficult to get people to call you back. I would consider all educational options before choosing NAU."

"This college is unethical . If you try to get a degree in Criminal Justice you cannot afford to finish and have to pay out of pocket. They do not get you your FA the same as other schools I attended and they force you to stay in class when you request a drop - the academic advisor at the Lewisville campus in Texas forces you to stay in school and when you fail you have a balance. I only attended the Lewisville campus and they are horrible. Do not waste your money. The courses are easy and they let you make up all late work but it is not a good investment like they tell you."

"National American can definitely work communicating better with students and potential students. They have been helpful to the extent that I must call several time to talk to someone without leaving a voice mail. Some times the staff act or talk as if they are to busy or have no time for you.I had attended NAU right after high school, I took both online and in person courses. The in person course were much easier. The online were difficult initially but after some time and learning from failing, they got a lot easier. I would recommend NAU. I have had some problems with the financial aid but caused by my own actions. (failing courses caused me to lose my financial aid) In the sense of cost it is pricey and I would recommend that any one who is interested in going to NAU talk to an advisor and the registrar because NAU accepts transfer credits. Pre-requisites(math, science, humanities, etc.) can be taken at a local community college and transferred over which will ultimately reduce the amount of debt/ cost to attend NAU. (THEY WILL NOT TELL YOU THIS! BUT IT IS POSSIBLE)The most difficult thing while attending NAU is having the self discipline to teach yourself the online course. One other thing is that SOME of the online instructors don't provide feedback on assignments so you can confirm that you are learning or understanding the material appropriately. Other than these things not to bad!"

"It is very interesting reading all the reviews on this school. NAU has instructors that are probation officers and Lt officers in my local law agencies. I have been taught by Lawyers and many other professional personnel. NAU is an expensive school that is why they are a private school. I've never been treated badly at NAU everyone I talked to and came in contact with have been so helpful to me completing my degree specially when I was deployed. If your not use to online classes I suggest you not go to NAU because there is a lot of work involved to get the points needed to pass the class. I've taken both online and at campus. The different is you do have to teach yourself more online were adults... The professors are their to grade and help but not spoon feed the information to you."

"The school has done nothing for me. When I first started I took two classes, in one class I know I should have received at least a C but I got an A in both classes. I think this is what entices you to go back. I went back for more and have been with the school for 4 years now. Four years later, still no degree but in debt. There's only a few instructors who will help you if you can wait 2-3 days waiting on an answer. Basically, you are learning on your own. What really bothers me is that they do not push you. You turn in homework and the instructor will give you an "A" no matter how bad the paper is. This may sound crazy but... I was researching on how many students do good at the school looks like almost everyone gets an "A." I am having doubts about the school now. If you are thinking of going to school here please do not take a chance. I don't know what to do now. Is this even a legit school? Stay away!"

"I am a current student at Nau. I have been going to school there for 3 years in hopes to get my B.S. in Criminal Justice. When I.applied, I was told that because I am a single mother and lower income, that my schooling would be paid for and that I was looking at maybe payments of $50 a month after getting my degree. I just recently found out that they are going to charge me $67,000 and that I am looking at payments of $800 a month. I tried to explain how wrong that sounds and all I got was it confirmed to be true. I explained to my financial aid.advisor that the average cost for my degree is $32000.After calling over and over trying to get answers and going above financial aid, they stopped taking my calls. And returning them. The last conversation I had with financial aid included me explaining thatt I have seen the population there, and majority are low income and no one would be able to pay these prices back. My financial aid explained that " Nau is a college for those who would not make it in a college." I said "so basically you're targeting those desperate to get ahead in life with little money, misleading them, and screwing them over. All she said was that she will send me the papers where I signed.I am in the process of switching schools but I was told that I because I have been using the max grant amour that I may not have much left to complete my degree at another school because myi classes Wong all transfer.Do not. Attend this school. They will scam you completely..! I was set up to fail . NAU degrees are a joke and you will get laughed out of job interviews. My location is the brooklyn center and Minnetonka in Minnesota."
