"I had the pleasure of receiving my Bachelors of Science from Old Dominion University. As a legacy, I couldn't imagine attending any other University, and I was not disappointed. Old Dominion offered me the opportunity to learn about my field of choice, Human Services, and myself. When you leave for College there are many mixed emotions: excitement, anxiety, sadness... Old Dominion gave me a place to explore those feelings and I left, not only with a degree but a better understanding of who I am as a person. The professors and admissions consultants were so helpful in learning to navigate what can be an intimidating place. In my senior year, I was required to participate in an internship. Upon graduating I was hired out of my internship. My employers were so impressed with my knowledge in my field. I owe my career to ODU!"

"Old Dominion does nothing to assist Adult Distance Learners. If you have an issue, please prepare to fight them and take your concerns to the top. They act like "just give us your money for your distant learning courseS and don't ask us for any help" I have experience this from my adviser and professors. I WILL NEVER ATTEND THIS SCHOOL AGAIN AFTER GRADUATION. THEY JUST WANT YOUR MONEY AND FOR YOU TO JUST SHUT AND DO BOTHER THEM. THERE IS NO SUPPORT FOR DISTANT LEARNER EVEN THOUGH THEY ACT LIKE IT IS. IT IS A BIG FAT MONEY CASH COW SCAM FOR THEM."

"Old Dominion University was the perfect online school for me. Reasonable tuition and my community college had an agreement with them so the credits transferred without an issue. There is no requirement to have to be on campus at all. Now I am going to continue onto my Masters degree and the education I received there will be very beneficial."

"I had a wonderful learning experience at ODU. All of my professors were great and they took the time to work with all of their students one on one. I took all of my classes online and it felt as if I right there in the classroom. I plan on attending ODU for my Masters Degree in Mental Heath Counseling. I highly recommend ODU"

"Would you get the same degree if you could start over?Yes! My degree was a bonus because I already had the passion for helping and educating others. I studied Human Services - Counseling & Elementary Education at the same time and which ultimately allowed to me work in a field where I used both majors at once. What advice can you offer other students?Start your research about college and take advance courses in middle school. This will help you to be at your best when competing for college entry and obtaining scholarships. With that said start applying for scholarships as early as elementary school, no amount of free money is too much. You do not want to come graduate from college with loan debts; grants and scholarships are the way to go! As far as choosing and pursuing a career, choose what is best for you, what makes you happy and choose something that you would love doing for the rest of your life. Income will always be a goal people are after, but make sure you find a job that brings you pleasure. In the end you'll be happy living a well balanced life."
