Purdue Global Reviews of Bachelor's in Healthcare Administration

I have been attending for a year. I have attended brick and mortar college in the past, but this experience is so much better. The synchronous seminars are excellent, & the option to watch the recorded live seminar later is amazing for those in any time zone. The instructors are great, the tutoring center is incredible, and last but definitely not least; as long as you keep your GPA up, you can really accelerate your learning by adding extra classes each term. As a Purdue Global student studying for my Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration, I have been impressed with the dedication of each professor, my student advisor, and other staff at ensuring I meet my goals. Each professor has given me one-on-one instruction, replied quickly to any questions I have, and graded fairly. I have also been a student officer of two clubs and one honor society. These roles have given me valuable leadership and conflict resolution skills that will be marketable... Read More in my field. The students represent a diverse global network. I have learned as much from the student body as I have from my professors. I have also taken advantage of Career Services which offers individualized instruction with resumes, cover letters, asking for a reference letter, emails with job opportunities with Purdue Global partners, and more. Career Services also invites employers to give presentations to the student body on what jobs are offered and what skills should be highlighted on a resume for that position.

While the most part this has been an awesome experience however because my student Advisor did not stay on top of progress he left me having to complete 3 classes my final semester. Also when I enrolled I was advised I’d have more than enough funding to graduate only to find out know I’m 10,000 over what I would need and rely on the school for a grant to finish that still has me worried as it won’t post until my graduation. Also I was eligible for $14k in this grant but was only give 2k to finish... Read More school that I find unfair.

It seems as though their is a mixed sense of feelings for this program. I'm uncertain of what other's have experienced, but I can say that I started my degree back in September of 2018. I've been able to maintain a 4.0 while doing a 1.5 hour commute everyday along with full-time work. The advisors have always been helpful, although they could be better on sharing information on accelerated degree programs. I graduate in August 2020 and so far I have had a great experience. I feel as though everyone I have interacted with has been professional and courteous. The advisors are very caring and helpful. The professors are very knowledgeable. You will have some professors who you may not mesh well with but part of being a professional is learning how to work with a variety of personalities. Many of my professors have high expectations but are also very understanding and ask that you come to them with any... Read More issues. They expect you to do college level work and most papers are to be written in APA format. They are preparing you for a career in your profession so they won't just let you slide through. I like this because it gives me the confidence I need going into the profession that I know everything I need to know. After reading many of these reviews, I can personally say, this school as well as professors (not all), are unprofessional and unorganized. Professors will also teach a Science course based on opinions. Not exactly ideal for science courses. I'm a returning student and let me say, I regret coming back. I wish I hadn't. I had to submit an identity form before my financial aid, pell grants, or federal loans get dispersed. I was told at first my form was good to go and had no issues. A week later, I... And while the mistake was with the notary; if whoever was doing their job properly, they would of caught the mistake the first time instead of misinforming me. For the rest of you attending who are having issues with the school, please know this; if they wrongfully lie to you and as many have said, ended up paying more than what Purdue Global said you owed; that's called Fradulent Misrepresentation . It's a legal term. You guys should look it up. Makes sense why they make us waive the right to sue. If they're not doing shady things; they wouldn't have to agree to not suing. Anyone considering this school, RUN. Seriously. Must be nice lying to students and placing them in debt and damaging their credit. Good job guys.

I see here that everyone has heir own experience, but I have to say, I never had a negative experience with this school. I do notice a few changes, but nothing negative. I try my best to attend all seminars, but it gets hard sometimes so to have that option 2 to complete when I cannot attend is a wonderful alternative. I do not like having to take the extra time, but sometimes it just becomes necessary. There are classes where the seminar is not required, but I still find it helpful in retention... As for financial aid, I haven't had any major issues. My payments tend to take longer to post and they send me a bill when I do not hold any responsibility at that time, but I know to wait until the grant or loan payment posts before I freak out. Everyone I have ever had to speak with has been professional, helpful and courteous so it saddens me to hear that so many people have had bad experiences with the staff, but I promise they're not all bad. I started with Kaplan in 2017. My enrollment advisor was pushy and did not understand why I could not enroll right that very moment, but after I got rid of him, everything was great! I will be done with my bachelor's in May of 2020 and I plan on attending again to obtain my Master's.

I am a current student at Purdue university global and started out in the associates degree in nursing but quickly found out there was no assistance to help students understand the material and no one broke down how to answer nursing questions so only those who were LPN'S moved forward. After failing two of those classes I decided to go a different route. One thing I disagree with others about is the time in which they give you to complete the work. I have been in 3 classes my last two terms while working 12hr shifts and doing billing and coding classes and still able to maintain A's in all 3 of my classes. My teachers are helpful, the material is taugh so I can understand, but they do need to upgrade the seminar system. Other then that I am due to graduate in June of 2019 and I am praying that I will be able to find a job. Hopefully my military credentials will assist me in doing so. It not a bad school but they could repair somethings.

Buyer Beware! As a former student of Purdue Global (Kaplan), I have a lovely $150,000.00 useless piece of paper hanging on my wall, now for a BS in Health Science. Do not waste your time or your money. I have been struggling to secure gainful employment since graduating. My student loan payments are astronomical and am making less than $15.00 an hour with a Bachelors degree. One would be better off attending a technical college. The instructors were ignorant when it came to the course work. Ive worked... Read More in medicine for 15 years and the professors were not very knowledgeable on the Core Classes and would often BS their way through lecture. What a farce!

Although only in my 2nd term, all of the negative comments are puzzling to me. Granted, they are still using Kaplan curriculum, but it is still accredited. It will also take some time to complete rebranding. It is a distance learning environment and you will only get back what you put in. My VA benefits took a while to begin funding, but it was not the University's fault, it was a VA backlog. I have so far had a terrific experience with Professors, Advisors and Classmates. I am a current student of Purdue I was recently affected by hurricane Florence where I lost everything, not even 2 weeks into the course I tried to drop it because physically and mentally it is nearly impossible for me to successfully complete the course due to the circumstances. Trying to be responsible I reached out to the school regarding my situation and I was inquiring about their policies in place for people who has been through a natural disaster, they said I would be responsible for full...
