Purdue Global Reviews of Bachelor's in Nutrition

After much research I made the decision to apply at Purdue University Global for my personal needs. The degree in nutrition I was looking for plus the total online environment so that I could make it work around my busy life (family, kids, work). I loved the student services, library, writing center, tutoring, etc, all of that was more than I had hoped for. I personally had a great advisor, with fantastic communication level and always working to help me get through in the most cost effective way.... Read More I felt my advisor was really looking out for me and my needs. I would recommend and have already recommended Purdue Global to others.

After not being in a classroom after almost thirty years I was a little apprehensive about returning. I was pleasantly surprised how great the instructors were. The materials being online also made things much easier. I did enjoy using the bookshelf app for the course books. My last few classes used a different service to deliver online materials and a lot of those PDF's are not text but pictures. I am one that has to read and listen to my material. This was not possible as some of the materials... Read More are scans and actually pictures. It made it slightly difficult but I managed. I could not imagine for someone who is vision impaired trying to use the same materials. I think a closer look at how materials are delivered to students needs to be researched closer.

So Fair warning for active duty Military, avoid this school at all cost. They don't work well with active duty especially if your deploying. There policy once a grade is given it stands. Your teacher will not read your material but, use an application for checking for Plagerism. If it scores to high they will give you a zero and that grade will not change. Mind you the application they use to check plagerism can't differentiate from lets say a template they send you to fill out a lab or a template... Read More or for a brochure that they give you. So if you use that template your plagerism score will already be high up in the 30-40% range. They have no desire to help fix the issue but, will just give you a zero and then you have to go through a appealing process that can take up to 3 weeks. My teacher ignored me for about a week before addressing it and said the policy about once a grade is submitted it can't be changed. Unprofessional is the name of PURDUE GLOBAL, there teachers could care less about helping you and there financial aid process is even worst, just becareful they'll try to get as much money out of you as possible by pulling loans out for you without your permission. You actually have to file a waiver to stop them from doing it automatically. It's not worth the headache or the hassle. If deployed it's even worse, turn in things early or try to correct them, it's a waste of your time and energy. There is no common courtesy or professionalism to help you fix the problem or if you do something incorrectly, just a zero that will not be changed. Again I can't stress it enough DO NOT ENROLL HERE. ACTIVE DUTY these folks could care less of your service or if your deployed in combat. Theres a reason that Kaplan changed to Purdue and the only thing that changed was the name. Do not give them your money.

This school is awful! I was required to submit a verification form and then was told it wasn't accepted, so I redid it and submitted it again and they again didn't accept it. It took several times of contacting them to figure out why they wouldn't accept it. Finally, when the amount of the balance due on my account came it was far past the add/drop date without having to pay and it was significantly higher than what I was told it would be. I then saw that my pell would only cover a tiny, tiny portion... Read More of the amount due. I called the finance department regarding the issue and they stated that they can't' do anything to help me. I told them the balance wasn't put on my account till the day before and they wouldn't do anything for me. I then called them again a couple days and what they told me made me think that they mixed up my financial aide with another student. I seriously wouldn't suggest that anyone waste their time on this school. They aren't helpful, they lie, and could care less about their students.
