This school stinks - 4/17/2019
Degree: Business
Graduation Year: 2020
"Run far away. Instructors here do no help. Financial aid DOES NOT REPLY. If you have a personal or medical situation, you are not allowed to make up work, complete zero/F or you should withdraw (which you still end up paying for). It takes over more than the regular 4 years to finish your degree. This school is all about teach yourself. Some teachers here are very encouraging and nice. Hence some, but most, nope, they are the opposite. If you graduate you are a small percentage. Most people who attend this school do not graduate because of the expense, time it takes, lack of consideration, on and on and on. Take your money elsewhere. The positive reviews were probably created by paid people or robots."

Ashford University - 4/17/2019
Degree: Sociology
Graduation Year: 2013
"Excellent professors. I thought the curriculum was a bit rigorous. However, after graduating and moving forward to attend a state school for a master's degree, I felt as though I was way ahead of the other students. I would definitely recommend this school to anyone, but would caution them that you need to be a responsible and detail orientated individual."

"Overall, I had a pretty good experience with Ashford University. I was initially uncomfortable with the courses being year round. As I got into the hang of things, everything became smooth sailing. My advisor was always willing to help and would call me if I missed an assignment or discussion to check in with me. It became apart of my lifestyle rather than taking over my life. I was able to take care of my children and work full time while completing this degree program. If you are someone comfortable with an online setup, then I suggest this program for you. It does require commitment, like any degree program. However, I appreciate how the university keeps in mind that its students are juggling multiple things at once."

Online experience with human interaction - 3/24/2019
Degree: Business Administration
Graduation Year: 2017
"My masters experience was awesome. The exposure to scholar/practitioner world through my MBA program has opened my eyes to many opportunities I never thought were possible. That, you can contribute to the society at multiple directions while earning income from various sources. The education was very engaging and allowed high connectivity with other learners and instructors. Indeed, Ashford for me was an online experience with human touch."

"I was very dissatisfied with my Ashford experience it seems as though Ashford interested in making money only there communication is horrible and if you need assistance with anything at all don't expect any help from them all they will do is take your money that's it."

"While the instruction was very good, we were not told we needed to secure our own internship to get a job with that degree. Since the onsite campus in Clinton, Iowa closed, I have tutored several students via the online company who bought the name "Ashford University." It is not the same school, and I can't recommend the current inception. The 'textbooks' are clearly the Master's thesis that some board member's son or daughter wrote for their Capstone; they are not actual textbooks. Save your money; make sure you choose a school that has a physical campus."

"Went for a year an a half. Had many courses retaken after getting a passing grade. When i left i was told that the loans and grant money was going to be returned to lenders. It never was. I then recieved notice that i owed an additional $1000 on a course i never took. Now im in debt to my ears."

"I attended Ashford University trying to get my Bachelors in HR Management. It seemed like after I started one thing after another was happening. I had to have surgery, we had to move and many more things. They were not understanding at all. I was told I still had to complete the work even though I had surgery. I asked for a leave, they granted it, but then the leave never happened. When I asked what happened, I was told they made a mistake and I had to complete the next course. I was unable to and ended up being kicked out because of this. Now they refuse to transfer my credits. I am not happy with this school at all and would not recommend them to anyone."

Graduation Year: 2018
"My Depressing Ashford University Student Loan Debt Costs As Much as a House in Oklahoma, and It's Not Even a Doctorate. If you want you can read more about it here. It's too depressing and long to type out again.  Also, it was such a terrible, expensive experience. I wrote about it here, and keep in mind, I graduated recently in November 2018 with a Master's in Psychology and you can learn a little more about Ashford's shady history as well. "

"I have been with Ashford since Feb 2018 and have had nothing but a great experience. Even with a little mishap just now with my account and unpaid balance from last year it was taken care immediately. However, this is an ONLINE school, at a teach yourself type pace. If you put in the effort and time, you will receive good greats. The instructors, at least the ones I have come in contact with, have been helpful and understanding."
