"I am very dissatisfied with this school. After tons and tons of calls to make sure they got my grant money, they stopped calling as soon as they say my funds came in. I was withdrawn from classes 3 times without notice. Each time I was told I could restart. They are stir calling for me to restart. They most certainly are only after the money! I would definitely not recommend this school."
Dan Soschin - 11/13/2015

Hi, I am so sorry you are frustrated, but I can help you sort through the issues. Sometimes, if your loans or grants do not come to the Academy in time, you have to delay starting to our next start cycle. Start cycles occur every 2-3 weeks, so usually you can get going once all your paperwork is sorted out. Our mission is to help you succeed and we are committed to that, so feel free to reach out to me directly (social@ultimatemedical.edu) and my team will help you.

"I received my associate degree in 2014 and could be happier. UMA helped me in every way they could and helped me find place of employment. Just a month after receiving my diploma I was employed. All the instructors that I had the pleasure of having always helped me with any questions or understanding that I needed. I would recommend this school to anyone that wants to go in to the medical field."

We are so proud of your accomplishments, keep up the good work. Thanks for taking the time to review UMA. (Ashonta)

"I don't even know where to start with this school. They ignore you but blow up your phone when it benefits them. When your begging for help nobody will help you return a call or email nothing. I went to school for Medical Coding and Billing. I get asked where is my coding certificate well I don't know maybe I should ask my school. Well forget that they don't want to hear what I have to say they just want their money. Every time I have a question they don't know the answer to they tell me they will get back to me then I never hear from them and I have to get passed around on the phone until somebody can answer my question. They never told me I had a refund check they wasn't going to and the wouldn't have if I didn't ask about it. This school is just in it for the money. They don't deserve to be a school."

"I love this school. I even went back to get my associates in Health Care Management. Its is so worth it to attend. I have been with this UMA since 2012 and I don't regret any if it.they coached me all the way. And when I fell off they were there to pick me back up again."
Dan Soschin - 9/22/2015

And we love you too, Danielle. Congrats on all your hard work. If you need anything else on your road to success, just let us know!

"I am a current student in the online degree program. I have been waiting since July13,2015 to receive my student loan refund check. I actually live only 40 miles from the actually ground campus. I was told that I had to wait 15 business days before a stop payment to be issued. Each and every time I call I get the run around, tranfered from person to person, department to department.I have called everyday and they look at my student account and are able to see that the check has not been cashed. I honestly feel that it was never mailed to begin with.I am feeling as if I have been scammed. When sending out this amount of money I feel that it is wreckless and irresponsible not to send it with some form of tracking number. I have had nothing but problems since enrolling in this school. There is a serious lack of professionalism as well as a lack of communication between departments. At this point I do not feel that it is in my best interest to continue with this school."
Dan Soschin - 8/20/2015

Hi Lashim, I'm so sorry to hear about this. The Academy's objective is not to create stress for you, so I want to see if I can provide any further assistance, or if the issue has been resolved. We have a hotline for students who are encountering challenges, called UMAcares.com. Please feel free to contact them - they are here for you. You shouldn't have to be frustrated. Financial aid is intended to help you pay for your education, not create stress. I'm sure we can help get to the bottom of this. Thanks and keep your head up!

Abandoned student - 6/5/2015
Degree: Medical Billing & Coding
Graduation Year: 2013
"DO NOT ATTEND THIS SCHOOL. They lie to you just to get you to sign up and go into extreme debt. They do not stand behind what a representative for the school tell potential students. If you express any displeasure about being lied to they abandon you and have no further contact with you. I graduated in 2013 and had a job as a receptionist but the phycisian got sick and passed away. Noone from the school will contact me for anything. Emails go un-answered and when I call and they transfer me, they hang up on me every time. They have left me heavily in debt with no way to pay it back because I can't get a job. They got their money from my loans so why should they worry about me anymore. THEY HAVE ABANDONED ME. I am extremely angry at this point. One medical office program teacher told me I missed something on an assignment and told me I could find the information in a certain chapter but not what page. In the end I looked through the entire book and could not find the information so I called the school and several people looked through the entire book as well and could not find the information and they left it at that. The teacher responded to me with an attitude and told me it is in the book and I should not contact her with the same concern again. This school and it's teachers only care about the money going into their pockets. I lucked up with the receptionist job. I was hired on the spot by two young women simply because I had a horse. The last communication I had from the school was a career advisor emailed me and said "she was not my career advisor, this person is, I have given her your information and ask that she contact you." I have had no further contact from them. I can not even get a job as a cashier because they see that I got my Associates degree in a medical compacity and they immediately think I would consider the job as extremely temporary and they do not want to waste their time. How can I repay $18,000.00+ when I can't even get a cashier job. Not even McDonalds will hire me because I would be "extremely temporary". I am fixing to lose everything and I feel it would not be so if I would not have attended this poor excuse for a school. RUN AWAY AS FAST AS POSSIBLE. You would be better off going to an actual University or Community College. If you have been lied to and abandonded by this school please comment on this review."

Hi Mariaha,

If you wish to cancel your enrollment, simply call the admissions team back. You should have their information in your enrollment agreement you signed. You may have received this via email if you enrolled in an online program. Or you can call our main number: 877-244-5150.

Best wishes to you as your chart the course of your future.

Dan Soschin - 7/6/2015

While I don't understand how you could confuse the medical academy with Popeye's Chicken, I reviewed all student records related to your inquiry and I see that you asked to cancel your enrollment, so you are all set. If you receive additional calls or emails, just speak with the members of the admissions team and have them confirm your cancellation. I wish you all the best with your future endeavors, be that at Popeye's, at the Academy or wherever life's journeys take you. If you have further questions, just email us at social@ultimatemedical.edu and we'll be glad to help you further. We're hear to help, and we have nearly 30,000 alumni that have successfully completed our programs.

Run Away - 5/21/2015

"This is a horrible school. Many teachers are sub-par. Many have to be corrected by students. This school does not give an education. All coursework can be found in a Google search. Nothing is taught. Career Services is a joke. They want you to look outside of what your diploma or degree is. One suggested I try to get a job as a transcriptionist or telemarketer. Why would I have obtained a degree in medical billing and coding if I wanted to be a telemarketer? This school tells lies to have student enroll. You cannot work as a medical coder remotely straight out of school. Most places require 3-5 years in office coding and also want you to have a CCS license or CPC-H. Both take additional schooling and exams. The other thing employers want is RHIT or RHIA. Do yourself a favor, enroll in an actual university. Most offer online classes and the degree you obtain through an actual university will take you further than this joke of a school. Now if you want easy, no brain required then by all means UMA is for you. If you actually understand how to make a complete sentence and have a general knowledge of spelling and punctuation UMA is not for you. You will be as frustrated as I have been. Run away."

"I attended Ultimate Medical Academy online for two different programs. The first was Medical Office Billing and Coding Specialist diploma and the second was my Associates in Health Science. During the time I was attending UMA I found the staff and instructors very helpful and they were always there when I needed help or had a questions. I never thought that I would ever attend school again, until I spoke with a staff member from UMA. UMA offers a great support system for people who are worried about school or for those who doesn't have a strong support group at home. The faculty and staff are some of the nicest people I have ever talked to or dealt with and they helped reach my goal of getting a degree that will allow me to work in the Medical Field. The faculty and staff take the time to check in a touch base with you to see if you are having any problems or have any questions. They have a way of inspiring you to want to work hard to accomplish your goals and dreams. I would recommend UMA to anyone who is serious about taking classes or getting a career within the Medical field. The faculty and staff at UMA made my online learning experience the best on that I have had before. Ultimate Medical Academy is an amazing school that will help you work around any obstacles that may stand in you way of getting a good college education and a degree toward whatever venue you choose within the Medical field. Without UMA I would not have accomplished getting a diploma and an Associates degree."
