"I'm a current student and I am very pleased. I'm new to the field and the advisors help me to gain a volunteer position that coincides with my degree. Now I am a few steps closer to a better career. Though they didn't help me get the volunteer position, they did advise that I gain experience that way. I ended up landing a position that can turn into a permanent position. I'm going into my fourth term and I'm maintaining a 4.0 GPA. The school I'm transferring to receive my bachelors is accepting all my credits. Thank God I made this choice. I will have a career and be able to support me and my daughter. Thank you Uma!!! Class of 2016!!"

"I am a current student in the online degree program. I have been waiting since July13,2015 to receive my student loan refund check. I actually live only 40 miles from the actually ground campus. I was told that I had to wait 15 business days before a stop payment to be issued. Each and every time I call I get the run around, tranfered from person to person, department to department.I have called everyday and they look at my student account and are able to see that the check has not been cashed. I honestly feel that it was never mailed to begin with.I am feeling as if I have been scammed. When sending out this amount of money I feel that it is wreckless and irresponsible not to send it with some form of tracking number. I have had nothing but problems since enrolling in this school. There is a serious lack of professionalism as well as a lack of communication between departments. At this point I do not feel that it is in my best interest to continue with this school."

"UMA is a great school. I finished my diploma in May of this year. Now I am working on my Associate's. They have helped with everything, from financial aid to interview practice. I have even been set for interviews. They stick with you the whole time. Ive read some reviews and if I'm not working 2 years from now I'm not calling UMA for a job. They did their part already. My next step is my certification and my Bachelor's. UMA is great!!!!"

"I'm 10 weeks out from graduating with my Associates for the MAA program. My entire UMA journey has been nothing but a fantastic experience. My advisor was the absolute best and always encouraged me and truly cared about my future. Teachers were always great as well. I had no problems here what so ever. UMA seemed to make everything go so easily and smooth. Thanks to UMA for everything they have done for me! They gave me so much confidence and I can't wait to graduate!!"

"I love my school! It only took 10 months to receive my degree with a accredited school. I received a laptop to complete my studys for free. I graduated with honors in April 2015. I currently have three job opportunities that UMA helped me find after graduation, and now I'm deciding which to pursue. I highly recommend this school."

Abandoned student - 6/5/2015

"DO NOT ATTEND THIS SCHOOL. They lie to you just to get you to sign up and go into extreme debt. They do not stand behind what a representative for the school tell potential students. If you express any displeasure about being lied to they abandon you and have no further contact with you. I graduated in 2013 and had a job as a receptionist but the phycisian got sick and passed away. Noone from the school will contact me for anything. Emails go un-answered and when I call and they transfer me, they hang up on me every time. They have left me heavily in debt with no way to pay it back because I can't get a job. They got their money from my loans so why should they worry about me anymore. THEY HAVE ABANDONED ME. I am extremely angry at this point. One medical office program teacher told me I missed something on an assignment and told me I could find the information in a certain chapter but not what page. In the end I looked through the entire book and could not find the information so I called the school and several people looked through the entire book as well and could not find the information and they left it at that. The teacher responded to me with an attitude and told me it is in the book and I should not contact her with the same concern again. This school and it's teachers only care about the money going into their pockets. I lucked up with the receptionist job. I was hired on the spot by two young women simply because I had a horse. The last communication I had from the school was a career advisor emailed me and said "she was not my career advisor, this person is, I have given her your information and ask that she contact you." I have had no further contact from them. I can not even get a job as a cashier because they see that I got my Associates degree in a medical compacity and they immediately think I would consider the job as extremely temporary and they do not want to waste their time. How can I repay $18,000.00+ when I can't even get a cashier job. Not even McDonalds will hire me because I would be "extremely temporary". I am fixing to lose everything and I feel it would not be so if I would not have attended this poor excuse for a school. RUN AWAY AS FAST AS POSSIBLE. You would be better off going to an actual University or Community College. If you have been lied to and abandonded by this school please comment on this review."

"The school is great and not once did I have a bad experience with them. My advisor is awesome. She helped me every step of the way with finishing school. Right now I am in the process of completing my diploma program. I will be finished in one week and the school is  awesome. I will be attending to further my education. They were never misleading and gave me the answers I needed and completely honest about everything. I would recommend this school to everyone I know."

"I would recommend UMA to anyone in healthcare. I had great advisors who were always willing to help, great support programs. I completed my Medica Office and Billing Specialist Certificate first. Then went on to complete an Associate of Sciences in Medical Office Billing and Coding specialist.Even after graduation, they are working hard to help me find employment, so I may utilize my degree! So glad I found UMA!"

"This is a horrible school. Many teachers are sub-par. Many have to be corrected by students. This school does not give an education. All coursework can be found in a Google search. Nothing is taught. Career Services is a joke. They want you to look outside of what your diploma or degree is. One suggested I try to get a job as a transcriptionist or telemarketer. Why would I have obtained a degree in medical billing and coding if I wanted to be a telemarketer? This school tells lies to have student enroll. You cannot work as a medical coder remotely straight out of school. Most places require 3-5 years in office coding and also want you to have a CCS license or CPC-H. Both take additional schooling and exams. The other thing employers want is RHIT or RHIA. Do yourself a favor, enroll in an actual university. Most offer online classes and the degree you obtain through an actual university will take you further than this joke of a school. Now if you want easy, no brain required then by all means UMA is for you. If you actually understand how to make a complete sentence and have a general knowledge of spelling and punctuation UMA is not for you. You will be as frustrated as I have been. Run away."

"Not happy with UMA no one help with job placement... went to job interviews and same story lack training and not enough experience even though I was a home health aid before so I lost my certification became homeless daughter got ill want to go back to work but not use what to do don't want to spend another 15000 at a school"
