If it weren’t for the fact I’m a single mom and this was the cheaper option I’d have a left already. You pay the school and they still make you jump through hoops to get any information from teachers, test scores aren’t usually able to been seen and the all around structure is just stupid. Could never recommend this school to anyone

I would recommend to any one thinking in enrolling in the teachers program at Western Governors University to really find out how it works. The mentors are not helpful at all. Another advice is do not tie any performance to the PRAXIS exams. Because if you do not pass the PRAXIS on time you will be held back on your program. Great staff who are there to help in any possible. It helps to be self-motivated but they motivate you as well. I loved my program & I really miss it after graduating.

They tell you it won't effect your financial aid status or graduation date...WRONG! I have many years of experience and find most of the tasks laughable. My colleagues always ask what ridiculous task I'm working on. Whom ever makes these tasks up, clearly hasn't been in the classroom for a long time or ever. My favorite so far is design a playground and make sure it's culturally... Read More

WGU has these mentors who babysit you every week to make sure your doing your job. The courses you have to have everything exactly the way they want it or the entire task gets rejected. Seems like a planned set back to keep you in school. Simple things that can just be marked down and still accepted at normal universities and still be equivalent to an A- or a B+. They require everything to be exactly the way they want it and the instructions are not exactly clear.

You find a leap of information that... Read More
