"I'm doing this because I simply wanted to give prospective students additional insight into what to expect upon graduation from WGU. This is most suited to those with work experience already as the degree from WGU will help check the box in a resume under the education. Another reason for the advantage with work experience is that due to the competency credits being awarded, those with expertise in the area can get the courses done quicker than others with less to no experience. Due to the cheap tuition per term, most students are driven to finish the program in one year as each term is six months, and in each term, you can complete as many classes as you want. One area where WGU is really lacking is the evaluation of their credit as any transfer of their completed credits will be B's, leading to a maximum GPA of 3.0. This can hurt those wanting to transfer into another school to get merit scholarships or those wanting to advance their education even more into a doctoral degree. The latter is evident as other providers of online education, including Old Dominion and Valdosta State, require a minimum GPA of 3.25 to be admitted into their program in the first place, so attending WGU will almost guarantee that you have no spot in a doctoral program afterwards unless you manage to really convince them somehow."

"WGU has been the best choice I have made for my Bachelor's and Master's degree. The Mentors and course instructors are better than any on-site instructors I have had exposure to at other institutions. I only would say their financial aid department can be better. It takes them 3-4 months to get financial aid award letter despite submitting everything on time. They do NOT understand that the award letter is essential to make financial decisions for the student and was not helpful when I reached out."

"Overall WGU was great and I will always be a nightowl. However it is not a 5 star review for a couple of reasons, in the masters program that I took you cannot add specialization or certificates to the degree! The other reason I'm downgrading a star is that with 2 classes left they changed the capstone of my program which created unnecessary stress of obtaining passed courses for the task in the capstone. Had they made the changes earlier in my completion the stress and frantic emails wouldn't have been a part of my experience. Overall I recommend the school especially for accelerators such as myself."

"This school is nothing more than a degree mill acting as a non profit. Anyone who cannot notice how the main objective is money money money! I had the one terrible terrible enrollment counselor who lied about financial aid as they all seem to do. The scholarship are nothing more than bait on a hook to try to reel you in."

"Outstanding University with great resources, responsive mentors and advisers. This University supports the learner and monitors progress to promote success. BE PREPARED to work hard, meet deadlines, and be self motivated or one can get off track and waste tuition. The high academic standards prepared me for my doctoral program as well with the high standards required. My experience was excellent and with my years of experience, I felt prepared for the leadership role that I took immediately upon graduation. I would have returned for my doctorate if they had the program it was such an excellent and supportive school."

"I had a great experience at WGU. The mentors were very supportive and kept me on track. I was told to set aside around 20 hours per week for school I didn't think I would need that much time, but I did. This is not an easy program. It requires dedication and hard work. The flexibility of this program was very helpful to me. Overall, I am extremely pleased."

It has offered me a graduate program that is affordable and credited.I could never afford to get my MSN any other way, the cost will be twice as much at least. Yes, WGU is a lot of work. Yes, you will work on your own, but you have mentors and Capstone Evaluators who work with you and guide you along the way. You get exactly what you put into it. The program is very doable. It has helped me developed the ability to work independently. Yes, you will do a lot of writing, but if you follow the rubric for each course, you will succeed. I have finished my MSN in 13 months. I highly recommend WGU to everyone."
