"It wasn't the golden parachute that I thought and I got it without enough work experience to make it pay off."

"It was very quick and difficult but it was also convenient. I wouldn't recommend doing online school when you are making another major life change, like getting married, moving and starting a different job. It was nice being able to choose when I would be doing the work, though. I really missed the social interactions but everything else was worthwhile."

"AIU Online is a great school and I recommend it to anyone who has a full time job that wants to further their education. My professors were great and very effective in their communication. My student advisers would always check in with me to see how i am doing or if i had any issues. This school does care about their students!"

"It was very challenging. I enjoyed the interactions with the other classmates. The layout of the class schedules worked out fine. I did not particularly like that the classes were rushed in some areas because I felt like I could learn a bit more. Overall it was a good experience."

"Good afternoon, I went to AIU in 2012 and was supposed to Graduate in 2015 in a degree in Business management but do to the high cost and all the loads I had to take I was not able to finish. I have called the school leaving messages trying to see the cost so that I can get my Transcript but have not got a call back. I don't know it this was all worth it because I get paper in the mail saying a I all this money to pay back."

"I really enjoyed the courses that AIU had to offer. It was a school that was easy to work into my life as a full-time employee, mother, wife and not to mention all the activities that come alone with family. I found the instructors to be very concerned with teaching the materials and were always available to me when I needed to reach out for additional help. The group projects were one of my favorite things to do. I was wondering how working in groups would work when students are in different states, but it was quite easy. With that experience I am now pursuing a job in project coordination/management. I never realized that this was an interest to me until working in groups here at AIU."

"This college is a JOKE! When I signed up, I was told I could get my Bachelors Degree in Accounting here. So I did my Associates in Business and then went to start on the Accounting and they call me and tell me that they are sorry but they have no degree in Accounting so I am going to have to transfer to a different college. I transferred to Upper Iowa University and they tell me that absolutely NOTHING transferred from AIU so not only did I pay 24,000 to go here but then I had to pay AGAIN for my first 2 years over again!!! Leaving me with a big nice bill of about 70,000 dollars for a Bachelors Degree in Accounting."

"When I started my grad degree program at AIU, I had professional working experience. So obtaining an MBA was icing on the cake. Earning an MBA has helped me command a higher compensation, no doubt. I've read alot of the reviews, especially the negative ones and they are all full of themselves. They are entitled folk who are in general disgruntled with themselves. Instead of taking minutesbor hours to write a negative review, go apply creatively to a job or better yet create a job for yourself. Thise folks have the wrong mentality. They think just because they have a degree someone is suppose to just GIVE them a job. Keep up with that childish, entitled attitude. Anywho, back to AIU. the only thing I wish the school had was a stronger alumni and networking system. That's it. What I've learned is that it does just take having a degree, you must also have a certification in your field. Perhaps AIU should push their students to not only obtain their degree but to also pursue and capture a cert in the students filed of study. Other than that, Im done."

"I attended this university from 2011 - 2013 to get my bachelor's degree. I attended a local community college prior to enrollment for my associates degree. The school was extremely expensive costing me around $32,000 which should have been closer to $24,000 they told me. It was writing intensive a discussion board assignment due every Wed, responses to two classmates and a weekly paper usually 2-5 pages in length, and some classes seemed repetitive. There were literally times when I had an assignment due in one class that almost mirrored an assignment due for another class. It wasn't easy but it wasn't hard either. I did learn quite a lot about business, the economy and my field of human resources that I hadn't previously known. It required a lot of research to complete the assignments and I had to acclimate myself to a school work schedule. The biggest cons for me were the costs, ignorance of classmates and lack of responsiveness from teachers. There were students who would post incoherent and grammatically incorrect discussion board assignments and receive an A. In fear of receiving bad grades on group assignments I would often volunteer to do the editing because most of my classmates should have never earned a high school diploma based on their (there, they're) writing skills! When I finished AIU I was making less than $40k a year working in the HR field. Within 9 months I accepted a position earning $14K more a year which was made possible due to my recent degree and 9 years experience in my field. I decided to earn my masters degree at a traditional college in my home state and attend an online degree program. It was a much cheaper option for me. I was accepted into the program without any problems so my degree wasn't worthless as previous people indicated. My overall experience was positive but it was the hard work I put in as well. My best advice is to weigh all costs and decide what is best for you. Make good decisions about your career path and you can make the most of your degree."

"I hate them so much. I know that is not nice to say but for a college program to steal from a working mother and ruin her credit for years and years to come is just too much. I did myself a huge disservice by going to this online school. Stafford loans just kept getting added onto my account somehow. I was only their one year from 2004 to 2005 and due to all of the loans that were put on by the Va, and or Stafford my credit has been ruined. and to this day I still don't have the transcripts to prove the work I did do. 17 credits worth. I was on the accelerated program. It sounded good to do at the time, and for a little while it was great, my teachers were nice and I was pretty much able to follow along, but then came the art class and that just was not something that you should do online, I know now that I need to be in front of a teacher with a dry erase board. Online was not the way for me nor was the amount of money this cost me. I tried several times to tell them to cancel the class and to drop out due to unforseen circumstances and I don't think they ever did so I got charged for classes i never took. I'm very disappointed and still trying to work my way out of the mess this caused me."

"I am currently taking classes at AIU. I am surprised at all the bad reviews. I am about to finish up two classes. Making a total of three classes I have taken. I love it so far! I am impressed with how much I am learning. Although challenging, it is not too overwhelming for me. My instructors have all been great and helpful! There are so many options I didn't think I would have online. I did have some issues with financial aid but I think that was mostly my confusion. You have to put in to it what you want out of it. If you don't apply yourself or read the material they give you, then you won't take anything from it. I have a hard time learning in a classroom setting. I much rather go the independent route and learn on my own time. It isn't for everyone, but if you work hard and manage your time you will succeed."

"Since graduating I wouldn't say my degree has hindered not helped me. I was able to find a decent career in the field I didn't study. Now I'm looking for another college to attend. It was fun while it lasted though. Nevertheless, the school is not a complete waste of time but I think if you want a success you have to have an appetite for education. At this point, I crave success. I'm not satisfied until I get my masters degree."

"I began my studies at AIU online in November of 2003. I earned my Bachelor's Degree is Business Administration - graduating Magna Cum Laude. I completed my first MBA in Human Resource Management and my 2nd MBA in Strategy. When I graduated with my 2nd MBA - my salary was right under $60,000 in 2006. My salary is now right under $100,000.00 with more room to grow and improve. I loved AIU and the entire program. My Virtual Professors were very encouraging and my advisors were on top of me to make sure that I was successful."

"You get out of it - what you put into it. Some people will go to school and expect to be given a degree (not earned) the school is there to learn - yoiu need to put in the time and effort - I see other reviews and I dont get it - I attended AIU from the AA program all the way to Masters and sure there are some bumps on the road but nothing big, Most teachers care - present the material and answer your questions - you have to collaborate - Bottom Line do I earn more ? YES with a Masters Degree I would earn alot less than I do today. Program Manager at HP 12 years"

"I loved the program. They were very professional and left nothing in question. The online program was very manageable and interactive and I learned so much and enjoyed attending all of my classes. The professors were great. All of my credits were transferable. I was so happy to walk across the stage during graduation in Atlanta. My overall experience was two thumbs up and I definitely recommend AIU to potential students!!"

"The online courses were very accommodating to my work schedule. The staff members were all very helpful and easy to contact. AIU also presents the material in multiple formats (visual, written, and auditory) to cater to different types of learners. All-in-all, I very highly recommend it."
