"I was able to attend Aurora University with advance standing and thus requiring one less year of graduate school. This allowed me to not only reduce the time associated with getting my post bachelor degree, but it saved me a year of costs with attending school. Advance schooling allowed me to get out of my small rural community -- low in diversity and life experience -- and experience new people and situations that would not have been available otherwise. I am grateful for both of my degrees and the opportunities they have provided me and my family. The support I received from school personnel allowed me to graduate without the support or guidance from my parents. I am a first generation graduate of post bachelor degree and my parents have a high school education."

"I really loved attending Aurora for my masters program. As someone who was working full time while pursing a degree, I felt that Aurora was the place for me. My professors were amazing at making sure I was able to understand and apply everything I was learning. My advisor was great and helped me with each step of the way and even still responded to my emails post-grad when I had questions about licensure."

"Aurora University is a private university tucked into the historic neighborhood of Aurora, Illinois. The campus is small but spread out so it provides a close-knit community feel. It's not so small that you know every student's name, but small enough that you see the same faces day in and day out. The library is quaint but has all the resources you could possibly ask for. The computer labs are spread out in 5 different locations across the campus. The cafteria has a menu and a buffet option, and the food is surprisingly good. The science labs were in the process of being updated when I was graduating, and from what I saw, the upgrades looked to be state-of-the-art and on par with large research universities. The classes were small, which meant quality engagement with the professors. And when not in class, their doors were always open. Not once did I have a professor who was too busy to sit down and chat with any questions or concerns. The academic advisors were equally as accessible and helpful. I was an older student but I blended in as well as the students fresh from high school. The tuition is a bit steep compared to public universities, but much more affordable than other private institutions in the area. As a bonus, there are a number of grants and scholarships that are available for every type of student. I would highly recommend AU and it was easily one of the best experiences of my life. Academically and otherwise."

"bogus how you pay so much for tuition and classes still require you to drop an additional 50-145 dollar per class because they use a different online course system. ex: all math classes make you pay for aleks. every chemistry class requires you to pay for aktiv. the accounting classes make you pay 100 dollars for another website to see your homework problems- when moodle/ bright space have the full capabilities of displaying them. if the school requires us so much payment for tuition- the least they could do is cover those websites and additional course materials."

"Aurora University is an excellent school with an on-line MBA program that is tailored towards working professionals. For starters, the application and admission process was very straightforward and there was an admissions counselor available every step of the way. Once I was admitted, I was paired with an education counselor and we created a progression plan specific to my learning needs and cognizant of my working schedule. The required courses for the program cover wide range of topics, and the elective courses provide the opportunity to focus on particular subjects. One downside is that the university does not offer a specialized"

"Overall, truly poor experience with the university so far. The registrar's office does not appear to do their job with enrollment status, as they clearly state they will. The field work experience for the MSW program is a very poor process that limits students' opportunities rather than encourage them, as well as the process of setting up the internship once accepted can take months which then affects future employers. I'd recommend looking elsewhere."

"Aurora has really given me the educational foundation in the area of social work to improve myself and build a very well rounded educational experience. The professors are wonderful and have a true interest in their students not just the coursework. All departments at Aurora from Admissions to Professors have been wonderful in taking time to explain in e-mail or in person. Aurora has become more than a university for myself but a support system for me achieving my goals in my education"

"Aurora University is an amazing educational establishment. They have very clean academic buildings on a small and very safe campus. The atmosphere is very friendly and the program is highly accredited. I have never had a problem with the staff and the financial aid office, as well as all other offices on campus, have very friendly staff who will do everything they can to assist you."

"Aurora University was a great campus to attend. I had excellent instructors, experts in their field. I was able to double major in psychology and art by means of an ART independent study program. The student peers were nice people to work with in class projects."

"Aurora is okay . Hopefully they have change a little . My experience was good . I liked the student and campus. Just some of the professors needed more teaching skills. All in all not a bad school but just mot my first choice . There are better small schools around"

"What finalized my decision to apply for Aurora University's MSW program is that they offer a part time option and most of the courses are offered at night and weekends. I am working full time while pursuing my degree, so having the option to complete night classes part time allows me to continue to work and maintain a light course load that won't interfere with my work. The professors are knowledgeable and have worked in the field, so they have excellent guidance to offer. The only con is that the program is expensive in comparison to the public universities within the state."

"I enjoy the small campus and small class sizes. There needs to be more available for students who commute but overall I recommend the college due to the knowledge of most of the professionals and professors who teach there."

"The pros are that the university has a great mission of challenging students to a higher academic standard and encouraging writing creativity. The cons are that the university does not provide support for finding internships or for financial aid needs."

"All of the professors are very personable and very involved in the quality of our learning. I have never felt as though a teacher did not care about my learning and my overall experience. The work load is reasonable and the content is strong and applicable. However, communication is lacking in administration and registration and it takes a long time to get a response with information."
