Degree: Psychology
Graduation Year: 2019

Over the course of my four years at Bates College, it became home. This is in part thanks to my friends and teammates, but also thanks to my professors, classmates, coaches, and many others. The instruction and care given by my professors is unmatched. I would not have wanted to do my undergraduate anywhere else.

Degree: Political Science
Graduation Year: 1992

My high degree of satisfaction with my undergraduate alma mater lies more in the quality of the students than in the quality of the education. Although the latter was very high, I was fortunate to meet people throughout my years at Bates who taught me different ways to view the world, illuminated for me that there were other types of career paths available to me than I could have possibly imagined in high school, and would remain strong influences on my professional and personal lives for the rest of my life. Additionally--and I didn't come close to appreciating this while I was at Bates--I am very proud about the values the school espouses, particularly in terms of fighting racism and other forms of inequality, but also in terms of the environment and other global issues. I really feel honored to be a graduate of the college.
