"First off, I just have to say if you are thinking about attending this school to get a masters degree please save yourself the frustration and look elsewhere. The management at this school is the worst it can possibly be. They are so disorganized! Do not count on ever speaking to someone on the phone. I have called the advising office numerous times without any call back and have had the same experience with the financial aid office. Apparently, they must prefer all communication over your school e-mail. When I first applied to the university back in 2020 I told them I would only transfer to their program if they accepted my courses I have already taken at a different university. They accepted two of the courses and gave me written confirmation of that. Over a year and a half later as I am getting ready to graduate I am not receiving a notice that they have no record of the transfer courses and they will no longer accept any waivers even though I have provided them with the documentation I was given that they were accepted. Next I need to make sure to mention they changed the whole program for students midway through the program from 8 week courses to semester courses making it very difficult to get into the classes that you need to take. It is sad the school is so disorganized because there are some good professors that teach the courses but the frustration with the academic management team hinders that fact by a long shot. Overall, do not attend this school. Worst decision I have ever made academically!"

"Under new leadership this may become a better program. When you sign on to a doctoral program, be aware you need to start thinking about your dissertation immediately, and you need to find at least three terminal degree holders to be on your committee. When I attended the previous "leaders" of this program did not prepare us for these realities, perhaps because they assumed we would already know them. I recall asking the assistant director to be a member of my committee and she expressed a very annoyed sigh, then said "Send me what you have,"' in a tone that indicated she did not want to take on any more candidates. They made a lot of money from me, however, so I guess BU was happy with them. I would rate them right above Walden."

"I took only 7 online classes, but I should have left after the 1st semester. This is the most disorganized school, I have ever attended. Financial Aid and Business Offices are always so difficult to get a hold of. Your student services coordinator constantly makes mistakes and has no plan for you. You take one class at a time aimlessly without having a clue what your path is at that school. Teachers are ok for the most part; but if you are an organized person, everything about this school would drive you crazy. I felt no support from anyone that I was told were my people to reach out to."

"Classes were fine, stay away from Prof. A. for Econ and youll be alright. Office of the registrar is awful with providing diploma once you graduate. They love to make you spend money on little stuff, and will never let you know if you have a hold on your account."

"No terminal degree program can be successful unless the student has the ability to go it alone, especially in a school where the terminal degree professors are not committed to serving on a student's doctoral committee. While the program director was carrying the program on his back, the staff instructors (presumably all adjuncts) all offered excuses about their non-availability. The next most senior staff member, when asked to join my committee, offered an exasperated sigh and,"send me what you've got and I'll see." If you are looking for a terminal degree, remember the course work is important, but the dissertation is the key."

"The public health program at UW awakened my passion for the field. Throughout the program I was pushed to dig deeper and really become engrossed in the material. The subject matter was diverse which allowed you to explore various avenues of public health but looking back on it I think this made it harder for me to realize what area of public health was a good path for me. I recommend taking the opportunity to talk with your professors and advisors as they are often working on very inspiring projects and can offer you some advice. If I were to improve one thing about this program, it would be to incorporate more service learning opportunities for students so they can network and get experience prior to graduating."

"As a doctoral student studying the administration of higher education, Benedictine University in Lisle Illinois was my first choice. I had been working as a Faculty Coordinator and wanted to learn as much as I could about the financials, budgeting, hiring, and all of the administrative processes that were necessary to support my new role at the University. Upon my acceptance in the doctoral Program at Benedictine University I assimilated into achieving a lifelong goal. First I acquired all the materials, technologies and cleared my calendar for a two year period to dedicate my weekends to attend classes and study. On average the required study time is approximately 25 hours per week. This is probably on the low side because I am sure I clocked in many more hours and an insurmountable number of sleepless nights. The doctoral program appealed to students who lived in state and out of state. There were those students who drove such long distances, they would stay overnight in hotels for the weekend because of the programs popularity. I am proud to have been part of a newly designed program with a blended teaching model. What this model offered is a combined program with both an online and classroom option to accommodate the working students."

"Benedictine, in itself, is a good university; however, its Master of Science (MST) program is a HUGE disappointment and I would NOT recommend it to anyone, not even my worse enemy. There are other universities in Illinois with much better MST programs (NIU, Depaul, U of I) and I wish I had gone to one of those schools instead of Benedictine. It seems that this program is an afterthought for those administrators in the Goodwin College of Business. They don't advertise the program like they do for the MSA and MBA programs; I went to an industry training and those who I had talked to had no clue that Benedictine even offered an MST program! As I progressed further into the program, I ran into an issue with either the classes I needed not being offered or them being cancelled due to low enrollment. I also had to take several courses as an independent study. I've had issues with financial aid and I was promised a scholarship but had a portion of it rescinded because I wouldn't be completing my degree within a 3 -year time frame (which isn't my fault because as I had mentioned before, some classes that I needed were either not offered at all or cancelled due to low enrollment). Not only that, but the programs is 16 courses, where other programs only require 10 -12 courses. My adviser wasn't much help either, which is a shame because he's the program director. I will say, however, that my instructors were very good for the most part. They really went out of their way to help me in areas where I had difficulty. They were very accommodating, easy to get in contact with, and knowledgeable on their respective topics. That part made the program a bit bearable. Bottom Line: DO NOT ENROLL IN THE MST PROGRAM AT BENEDICTINE!!!! I can't speak for the other programs but the MST program isn't up to par for me."

"This is a great school if you want to have small classes and have a one-on-one discussions with your professors. Right from the beginning of my experience with the school they make you feel like family as if they genuinely care about you personally and your future. Benedictine University offers flexible classes both online and on campus. You are able to contact you professors at anytime, which includes office hours, emails, and direct phone calls to them. The professors are knowledgeably, and know a lot about the discipline areas. The school offers free tutoring for any subject every single day. There are many activities going on everyday. There are Open Mic nights on Friday nights. Football games, soccer games, lacrosse games, basketball games are held as well. During spring time, groups of people with be playing ultimate frisbee. I highly recommend BU to anyone. It was the best decision I have ever made."

"I loved learning with the hybrid model of face to face classes and the online content. My degree increased my reading and literacy knowledge. I easily found a new position with my new skills and endorsements. Earning my degree, while working was very manageable. I was able to keep my family, work, and school lives balanced."

"I am at the very end of my Grad School program with Benedictine University with one one session of classes left and I would highly recommend BenU to anyone. Right from the beginning of my experience with the school they make you feel like family as if they genuinely care about you personally and your future. Anytime that anything comes up where you need assistance in any way there are countless people there to help. Attending the MSMOB program through Benedictine University was one of the best decisions I've ever made and it has truly set me up for success in countless ways for my future."

"The dual MBA/MPH program is great for students who are interested in Healthcare Administration but also want flexibility to explore other aspects of management. The small class sizes give you the ability to develop a deeper relationship with teachers and the fact that the whole program is also available online is helpful for students that are working full time like me."

"The program is overall a great program, they give you real world applications from a practitioner stand point as well as a scholarly viewpoint. I have had a few issues with Financial aid, but who doesn't. Our professors are knowledgeably, and know a lot about the discipline. I do wish that they would give us more feedback when it came to our papers, assignments, as well as presentations."

"Words cannot even begin to express the gratitude and admiration that I have for the individuals that I have worked with from admissions all the way through to all of our professors. BenU has truly changed my life in countless ways. I have learned more through their online Graduate program than I have in any of the universities that I attended in person (and I attended some pretty phenomenal universities). The staff at BenU is organized, knowledgeable, respectful, kind, and the list goes on. They truly care about you as an individual as if you were their sibling that they are watching out for. My program is 2.5 year and I only have 11 months left! I could not be more delighted with the decision I made by choosing Benedictine University. It was truly the best decision I have ever made!"
