"It would be hard to find a better graduate school experience than what I've had at Boston College. The career services are outstanding, especially for those who are looking to change careers and enter a new field. Many firms visit campus to offer information, conduct interviews, and network with students. The classes and faculty are top notch, and the workload is tough but fair. Boston College has given me so many opportunities as a graduate student, and I believe I will be more successful in the future because of my choice to attend the Carroll School. I don't have much to offer on the negative side, but I will say that the program gives you as much as you put in. If you don't regularly talk or meet with career strategies, they may not be as helpful, and the same is true of the firms that visit and the networking opportunities. Take initiative at Boston College and you will be rewarded. The last thing I will say is how amazed I am at the group of people that come through this program. What I read about top MBA programs, like HBS or Chicago Booth or MIT Sloan, is that the competition can be overwhelming and palpable in the classroom. At Boston College, the people are competitive but they are so much more collaborative than what I expected when evaluating business schools. It is a fantastic environment in which to learn and build a network for the future."

"The best and worst part of the BC program is its small, intimate size. The size allows you to form relationships that are unmatched by other schools both with your peers and with professors and administration. You'll receive individualized attention that ensures you meet all of your goals during business school. On the flip side, the small size limits the ability of the program to bring in some big name speakers or companies who would prefer to have a larger audience."

"The pros of this graduate program are the quality of professors, the campus safety, and academic competitiveness due to the location. However, the cons of this program are the ability to get to the campus. There is usually a lot of traffic to and from school and the amount of financial aid available to students."

"I feel that the Boston College Graduate School of Social Work is an incredible track that very well prepares their students to become forward-thinking and well rounded social workers. This program, along with my work experience, has helped me obtain an extremely competitive internship working in domestic violence and sexual assault. The quality of education that I am receiving at Boston College is absolutely superb and feel extremely fortunate to be part of such an amazing learning institution. The one negative aspect of the graduate program is that classes fill up very quickly due to the archaic class registration system."

"Boston College hires excellent professors and the MSA program is very small. BC has access to great resources and is a prime location for recruiting in the Northeast."

"The Connell Graduate School of Nursing at Boston College is one of the top 25 graduate nursing programs in the country. The program prepares you to be a leader in the healthcare industry and does so through classroom and clinical hours. Professors are always available to answer questions and assist students. These professors are the top in their field and complete numerous research projects. Students will be cared for and challenged at BC and the CSON."

"Boston College is a highly ranked school for social work. While I did not attend for an undergraduate program, my experience with the graduate school of social work has been very rewarding. Like with most graduate programs you have to consider what is right for you. I enjoy BCs proximity to the city. I also appreciate that it still maintains a intimate community feel because of the underlying ideals of community and service. Also, the admissions staff were wonderful and accommodating--which makes a difference during the application process. Cons include the cost of living in Boston and the limited financial aid for graduate students in the social work program."

"Pros: WONDERFUL faculty, making so much time for individual meetings, scientific training, support in presenting our work at conferences; flexible requirements, allowing us to complete the coursework that is most relevant to our career; teaching opportunities and TA responsibilities that are not overbearing; little competition within the department Cons: Not sure if there are any, though I should add a caveat that the individual advisor has a lot to do with the success and happiness of the graduate students, so I can understand why certain ratings and experiences might differ!"
