"The program provides pretty comprehensive graduate education. I definitely did work outside the majority and didn't have a lot of guidance in my research. Our program focuses a lot on certain methods, and on regions of the world, at the expense of others - students who work beyond those are definitely at a disadvantage."

"There is a free environment to choose your advisor. Graduate courses are suitable for Phd to improve the ability of research. Industrial Partners Program (IPP) provides a great opportunity for Master. However, the department is small."

"They offer NO financial aid for Masters students. The work load is average for colleges but the teachers are very good. Most of the students are from India or China so thats the extent of the diversity. Grading is fair for the courses and I've learned a lot since I've been here. Overall Great school and great surroundings."

"The Brown Trinity Masters of Fine Arts Program in Acting is one of the top and most competitive in its field. The program focuses on creating well rounded artists that graduate ready for the professional acting world, as well as experience in directing and play-writing. Students are guaranteed acting opportunities on the Trinity Rep stage, competitive financial aid packages, and a faculty that believes in providing significant one on one support to help each actor grow within the program. The workload is very intense. With 12 different classes taking place over a 6 day work week, students are constantly working. The Providence community has very little distractions a large city would create which helps students focus. Also, as a MFA program that is affiliated with a major ivy league university, students have incredible amounts of resources that are available to them, including networking opportunities. Overall, the Brown/Trinity MFA Acting Program is an incredibly demanding 3 years that gives its students all the tools/experience they need to succeed in their field.Read Less"

"The history PhD program is both rewarding and challenging. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is willing to put in the work."

"Graduate school provides pretty generous funding, which allows one to live comfortably by humble student living standards. It would too tight for two people, but covers all the necessities (accomodation, food, some books) of one person. My program has some great faculty members, not all of whom are available whenever graduate students would like to be available, but they're good lecturers and good resource. The student body is pretty diverse in the program, we have students from various parts of the world doing different types of research, from demographic studies to qualitative ethnographic projects. I've made some good friends while studying here, and miss those who have already left.Read Less"

"Great environment for studying. Faculty and staff are very accessible and supportive and students are friendly. Nice city to live, with convenient transportation: all buses in RI are free for Brown students."

"Pro: Brown has provided me with the ability to access my local community and engage in health care access for Latino communities. Con: Brown needs to continuously improve there education on barriers to health care access for minorities and people of low socioeconomic backgrounds."

"I have enjoyed my time at Brown. The professors are amazing. Their dedication reflects in their teaching. The school does all it can to make the students' lives as fulfilling as possible. Shuttles are always available and the surrounding areas around the main campus have many restaurants. The main college green is beautiful. The old buildings bring a special type of nostalgia to the campus. I haven't come across to many cons. I can't speak of other departments, but mine is well established and efficient.Read Less"

"This program has a lot of advantages and a lot of disadvantages. PROS: a super-available faculty, a close-knit community, a growing network of alums, Providence is great, and the program is highly selective, every student is investigated to their souls under a microscope. Some of the faculty are truly outstanding. A couple of them are duds. The program is still growing, and changing for the better; the downside is that the students are the guinea pigs for the improvements. CONS: the workload is insane, there is no time to rest or relax or have a social life beyond your classmates. The program is insanely expensive, they help out with scholarships when possible, but it's never enough, so every student here is either rich or in debt. As a result, the program is not as diverse as other programs.Read Less"

"Master of Electrical Engineering in Brown university is a great program, but not as much strong as other programs in Brown university (for example Computer Science) Its still under development but could give the student all the chances for success, and could provide him with various research and work opportunities."
