Degree: Sociology
Graduation Year: 2017

The sociology program at Cal Poly is absolutely wonderful. I had a criminology sub plan and the instructors there really know their field. Even the adjuncts seem to be happy to be teaching what they teach. The sociology department is full of wonderful people who really know their field and want everyone to succeed.

I found my identity at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. I wound recommend this school for every and any degree that an applicant is applying to. I found a strong support system that helped me to be successful in college. I found friends that became my family and staff that became my mentors. I am also very prepared for my career. I owe it all to Cal Poly Pomona. Proud Bronco!

Degree: Biology
Graduation Year: 2015

Cal Poly Pomona shaped my life more than just academically, though I was excited to attend for the zoology emphasis (a unique and rare offering nowadays), the like-minded individuals I met while in attendance became the greatest of friends. The large, dispersed campus is always a joy to walk through, though inconvenient if you only have 15 minutes between classes. This institution gave me the best years of my life.

Degree: English Language and Literature, General
Graduation Year: 2016

Cal Poly Pomona is not only a diverse university, but the rigor of the curriculum and the beauty of the campus make for the ideal college experience. Courses are centered around the school's mantra "learn by doing." Thus, top notch professors attempt to interweave both theory and application throughout all disciplines. Among other things, the campus restaurants provide enough variety so that students won't become tired of the food. Great school!

Degree: Information Technology
Graduation Year: 1983

This is a fantastic college for computer information systems. The program brings everything to the table to help you succeed in the workplace. The most interesting thing I learned is the number of Cal Poly grads who were distinguished engineers at IBM.

Attending California State Polytechnic University, Pomona or Cal Poly Pomona, was honestly one of the best decisions I have made so far. The course work is rigorous, but the professors are willing to help and their knowledge is infectious. It is a wonderful atmosphere that keeps you interested and striving to learn. There are few other schools where I would have been exposed to so much hands-on teaching so quickly. In my very first year I was able to castrate a piglet, perform a blood draw on a sheep, and give vaccines. It was an amazing experience and there are so many varied opportunities on campus to provide experience. I was a member of the livestock show team and learned many things about working with animals like cows and pigs. I was a member of the foal team and was even there to see my mare foal. It has all been an amazing experience that has prepared me so much to continue on with my journey to veterinary school.

Degree: Mathematics

It was hard getting classes due to budget cuts at the time affecting course offerings, but it was a good place to go to school. It was a commuter school, but easy to meet people in and before class, and there was a lot to do in the area.

Degree: Psychology

I loved my college. It was a commuter college so if you want to get involved you have to make an effort. Look at the teacher rating sites and be flexible with your schedule.
