"Dominguez Hills MSW Program is the newest, least known and least prestigious than any other CSU MSW Program. I know several placements that wills not consider nor accept Dominguez Hills MSW students for internships. CSU Los Angeles, Long Beach, Northridge and Fullerton offer a more varied program. I was not able to chose any electives at Dominguez Hills, nor were we allowed to register for the professor of our choice. The only thing worse than the academics at Dominguez Hills is the administration. They have no clue what they are doing.. .I was a student for two years and had five different academic advisers...None of whom I ever met. I'm still not certain what their function was. They are not able to retain any staff. These random professors would pop up a few days prior to enrollment who have never taught at the university previously, or taught anyplace else. But, no matter as we weren't allowed to chose the professors we wanted to take anyhow. If you have a really low GPA and low or no GRE this school is for you! I was accepted into Dominguez Hills MSW Program with a 2.2 GPA and no GRE score. This is why their reputation is so poor. ..They will take the other school's rejects. They don't tell you this part either: If you sign up for their part time program- you cannot use any state grant money or active undergrad grants --even if you qualify. It is the schools way of earning more money for themselves...and forces students to building-up more and more student debt. This My first job offer after graduation was for $3,000 more than I have been making at my current place of employment. Two years and $25,000 later --not a good decision. Weigh your options. CSU Long Beach and Los Angeles are both top schools for MSW degree in CA and both are reasonable. University of Phoenix or other online option would likely provide a more enriching experience than this university- if you can even call it that. It was more like a run-down community without the charm. They began construction and moved us to other non-classroom areas of the university for our courses. You can try complaining like I did...But these people are not their to work with you, assist or support you. They are there to get their pay check and go home... This will become evident after a few months if you "end up" at this school. Everyone in my MSW program was at Dominguez Hills because they were not accepted at any other CA State school. Nobody wanted to be there- which I think says a lot."

"California State University of Dominguez Hills offers a great Masters of Social work program. The unique component of the MSW program at CSUDH is the school incorporates Critical Race theory in its curriculum to assist the students in creating a lens to serving their population. CSUDH has well qualified, educated, compassionate professors that empowers their students to overcome the challenges of the graduate program. CSUDH offers self-care events to promote the success of their students. The MSW program is a challenging program over all, competing with other schools for internships opportunities becomes over whelming, but with the professors and faculty assisting along the way. The MSW program becomes manageable and within reach."
