"A decent college for writing. If your interested major has something to do with entertainment (video games, television, movies, etc.) this is not the college for you."

"The advantage of my graduate program is to have access to instructor and staff when needed. They are always willing to help whether is associate or not with class material. Lectures in general are like open discussions where students share their personal life without being afraid of confidential issues. Adding to that, there is not too many student in the class which facilitate discussions and understanding of the material. However, the disadvange of the program is that as being an international students, the university does not offer financial aid for us which makes it a little difficult sometimes to survive. Overall, I really enjoy very much going to Cal State University San Marcos because this university has helped me grow in many different ways. Being the successful young woman I am today goes all to what I have learned there. Thank you for considering my review."

"I am in the MSW program here at CSUSM and even though it is a fledgling program, it is competitive, succinct, and very enriching. I would recommend it above other MSW programs because you get field experience your first year in addition to your second year. Other MSW programs only put you in your practicum your 2nd year."

"Instructors are extremely helpful and always available for students. Curriculum is great and everything is tied into real life skills and possible scenerios. However, program is new and things change rapidly."

"The pros of my graduate program is that the cohort size is small which allows students to have greater communication with the faculty members. The cons of my program is that it has limited funding and financial aid resources."

"The psychology graduate program at California State University San Marcos (CSUSM) is of the highest caliber. The program is very research oriented making it a great stepping-stone for those who wish to obtain a doctoral degree. The program is not aimed at providing experience in becoming a marriage and family therapist or a clinical counselor. CSUSM's psychology graduate program includes course work in advanced research methods, statistics, and undergraduate teaching, which prepares its students for careers in community college teaching, community service, and business. The psychology faculty, both tenure-track and current lecturers are diverse in their backgrounds and research interests and are very welcoming. The course work can be overwhelming, especially in the first semester, however the students and staff are very supportive, the quality of education is of the highest caliber, and the experiences gained while in the program are invaluable."

"The faculty in the history graduate program at CSUSM are exceptional educators, mentors, and advocates. They are sincerely dedicated to the success of their students, and are easily accessible to provide guidance and support. The digital history component of the program sets it apart from many other graduate programs. It provides graduate students with additional valuable skills to help leverage job opportunities upon graduation. The only drawback to the program is that there are only a few faculty who specialize in European history, and none, on staff, whose area of expertise is British history. (They do employ one exceptional adjunct professor of British history though!)"

"The program offers amazing professional and academic support. I have made amazing relationships with my professors that support my success in the program. Although the content is hard work and challenging at times, I have gained invaluable knowledge and experience in practical application that will help me become a successful future professional. The program also takes into account the ideas and opinions of the students and takes our feedback with great and consideration and importance as a means to further better the program. Not only is the professors and academia a pro of this program, the relationships I have made with my cohort as helped further my educational experience and will be long lasting past graduation. A con of the program is that it is highly intensive and takes a full time commitment. Working is highly difficulty outside of the program, but this is expected in this field of study. Overall, this program has been the perfect fit for my educational success due to the intimate structure and quality of education ."

"My favorite thing about my graduate program is the involvement of the professors. I can tell they really care about you as a student and want to set you up for success. This is their passion and they devote so much to give their students the best education possible. I also like how I am going through my graduate program with a cohort of students so the support is really great. I can't think of any cons!"

"I feel that the History graduate Program at CSUSM is very challenging. I am confident that I will leave the program with a mastery over the field of history, capable of writing academic books and conducting thorough research. The faculty is amazing and they are genuinely concerned for their students success in life and academia. The campus culture is great and I have made many friends since attending school here as an undergraduate. If I had to point out any cons, it would be that the cost of tuition keeps rising, which is an across-the-board problem and not one unique to CSUSM."
