"The college is well maintained and the teachers are friendly and helpful. It is very liberal, things like LGTB drag queens flaunt about on campus and are praised. However, if you are able to ignore this, the education is affordable (somewhat) and most teachers really want to teach."
Sociology grad 2012 - 5/29/2015
Degree: Social Sciences
Graduation Year: 2012
"I wouldn't highly recommend this university for their social sciences. I'm still very disappointed in the lack of education I received. The professors aren't great quality, a few should have retired eons ago, and the rest are out to be your friend, not impart any kind of wisdom."

"It is a great school with a nice campus. As long as you as you show up, you're half way there. Very good instructors."

"California State University (CSU), Stanislaus is a fabulous institution of higher learning and is truly the "Gem of the Central Valley," as coined by the University President. Growing up in the area and attending a university that is considered local to me seemed the least favorable choice when I was selecting a school as a senior in high school. Looking back, however, I am completely and utterly satisfied with every class and extracurricular experience I had while at the CSU Stanislaus. Plus, it didn't break the bank! The Communication Studies Department in particular is populated with professors and students alike who are intrigued by asking questions, respectfully pushing boundaries, and thinking outside of the box. It was a great time for me to broaden my thoughts on established social systems, technology in our modern society and the fundamentals on how we communicate with each other. I also minored in Theatre Arts while at CSU Stanislaus and found the department to be highly prestigious and worthwhile for majors and non-majors. Outside of my academic endeavors, CSU Stanislaus offered many opportunities to "Get Involved" after hours. By the time I graduated I held tenure as the University Student Union Board of Directors Chair and President to the International Panhellenic Sorority, Phi Sigma Sigma. I truly believe that these experiences would not have been possible had I gone to a bigger CSU or UC. As nice as it sounds to go to a large university, you may not get the specialized attention that you would at smaller campuses, including CSU Stanislaus. Overall, CSU Stanislaus is a BEAUTIFUL campus with wonderful professors, great opportunities to better yourself both in class and on campus, with a high graduation rate. CSU Stanislaus is a wonderful school and I highly recommend to all students!"
