This is the WORST nursing school in U.S.. I experienced the worst discrimination and hatred someone could ever imagine from the Instructor, Dean of Study, and the Corperate Board of Directors. Dr. P. who was our Critical Care (NUR231) Instructor and she also the school Dean of Study DENIED me my grades on my exam 1, exam 3, and supplemental exam (I have the question papers). Dr. P. TERMINATED me on my graduation day saying that I did not reach the passing grade. But two students who scored lower than me were graduated. All the class were awared that these two students did not pass. I passed all the clinical and I did not violate any school rules and regulation. I believed that Dr. P. terminated me because of my speech impediment. Dr. P. made a comment after my class oral presentation on November 20, 2018 in class room #133 that I am not suppose to be a nurse. Dr. P. said she is wondering how somebody can be a nurse and cannot be able to communicate with patients, Doctors, and family members. Dr. P. was also demontrating, moving her mouth, neck, hands, and legs exactly the way I did during my presentation. I knew Dr. P. was refering to me because I was the only one with speech problem in my class. Dr. P. terminated me after they collected my $49,000.00 plus. This is discrimination and hatred.

This is the worst school ever. They only want your money here. I did my lpn here and it was bad then and I went back to do my RN only because their credits dont transfer anywhere. RN program was even worse. First of all, the teachers arent qualified to teach. Any dingbat can apply for a job to teach and get it. No teaching credentials or experience required. This Lectures are disorganized and confusing. I only passed everything because I read my NCLEX book cover to cover. THERESA PECSEK IS THE WORST!!! She doesnt know anything and she was teaching community health which is a MASTERS course and she doesnt have a masters. Shes a mental health nurse and not even good at that. She couldnt even teach that class. If you go to this school, expect to rely only on your books. LINDA PETERSON is a bully. She spends more time talking students into dropping the program then helping people pass. KATHLEEN RATCLIFF is PREJUDICE against Americans. She held secret, private study sessions only for the international students where she gave them test answers. Those student got 100s all year. I know this sounds crazy but I still have all the texts from Kathleen were she admits it. Contact me if youd like to see them. LEE VARGA is also a joke. She was cool when she was a teacher but then she became director of nursing and now she sucks. She actually tried to force everyone to get their flu shot with the threat that wed be kicked out of school. That is ILLEGAL. I told her I would sue the school and then she backed off. FLU SHOT AND HEP B ARE OPTIONAL!! it is illegal in the state of Idaho to force these vaccines. Dont even get me started on financial aid! They gave me my LPN transcripts and are holding my RN transcripts hostage until I pay my LPN student loan. This school sucks. If you could go somewhere else, do that. On the flip side, of you want to cheat or come to school and clinicals drunk, then youll be fine here. Both Jill and Lee have let students cheat and Lee has let a drunk student attend clinicals with total disregard of patient safety. I can go on and on!

I agree with the previous reviews, I wouldn't recommend going here for numerous reasons: 1) They claim to help you on your class/assignments but act like we are all cheaters. They won't let you see what you missed on exams and wont give extra credit...seems fishy. I think they want certain students to fail to get money from them retaking classes. 2) They only have a quarter of what other universities have, even though you pay a lot more. 3) You are a guinea pigs for new teachers who never taught or barely have experience...so the classes are disorganized. Again, for the price you pay its ridiculous.

This review is for the Mesquite campus. Disappointed would be an understatement. From day one everything has been disorganized. None of my credits (from an University) were utilized. Mid-semester your getting notifications of withdrawal threats because the filling person lost all your information. The staff are unprofessional and not very knowledgeable. When you have a real issue or concern, staff treats you like a PRESCHOOLER, literally!!!!! all they want you to do is have you draw and color pictures & stuff you with candy None of which is conducive for the RN program. They have literally told students to drop the course & retake it, instead of providing resources to help them pass. (It looks bad if students fail, rather than students withdrawing)The Fundamental/ med surg teacher act as if she has a vendetta against the entire class, (she takes PLEASURE in giving failing grades)she is without compassion or nursing skills. She gives 8+ chapters to read & gives test on whatever comes to her head. She words her questions completely wrong, so I ask how do you expect a right answer? For the skills section she skips through a you tube video & expect you to follow suit. No hands on demos just partial you tube videos ( when skills are a huge part in what makes you a nurse) The lectures are beyond horrible, I dont even want to elaborate. I've been an LVN for 11+ years and she confuses me, & Please don't ask a question or you will automatically be disregarded and shunned. The students aren't being prepare for the now Kaplan test nor NCLEX, we are just being lectured on making sacrifices for the school, & pressured to give a great review so they can keep funding. The only thing that has been consistent at this College is the automatic payment reminder e-mail. Honestly, I do not recommend this College to someone who wants to become a nurse and make an impact (because you will not learn a thing) however, if you are in the field and want to advance, why not it's only 18months.

This school is seriously the WORST. The same professor teaches the first semester, and he doesn't want to help teach. When he is asked a question his response is "well basically..." and then veers off topic. Half of my class failed first semester. Our grades weren't posted until 7 weeks into the semester. Multiple students went to the professor himself, the tutor for the school, multiple administration people, and finally the dean and not one person could tell any of us were we stood in the class. The few study guides we received were from a different book than the one that we were learning from, and the study guides were handed out a week AFTER the test was taken. The only way to make a grade in this school is by taking tests, there are no assignments. When the school realized that most of the class was failing both Chemistry and A & P they changed the re-seating requirements, literally TWO WEEKS before the semester ended. When we had first enrolled at Carrington there was a two class you could fail rule, and still go on. Well they changed that, two weeks before the semester ended they sent out an email saying you had to request to be re-seated, go through all these ridiculous steps, and wait 180 days probation. So myself, and my other classmates were of course annoyed, but we did as we were told, and two days after the semester ended AFTER we all sent emails to be re-seated we got emails saying "since you did not request to be re-seated you are kicked out of the nursing program." I could go on and on about how unorganized and terrible this school is, but I will leave you with this. A student in my class had spoke with the tutor at the school in regards to this issue and she responded with "Well new students pay an extra $50,000, you're just going to give them an extra $2,000." That just goes to show you how money hungry the school is.

I am a 3rd term nursing student at the Reno campus that is about to go into their 4th term and am beyond disappointed with this school. They cannot keep staff, having lost most of their good academic faculty over the last few years to TMCC and UNR. What students are left with is a school that is nothing like the one Carrington used to be in 2015, possibly earlier. The dean jumped ship, along with multiple firings in the administration that have left positions open and the administration extremely short-staffed. I have a friend who went here and graduated in late 2014, and she doesn't know ANY of the teachers now except some of the general education teachers and 1 nursing instructor. The general education instructors were good and comparable to the UNR instructors I had for general education courses. The nursing instructors are terrible. This is coming from someone who has straight A's and isn't writing an angry review due to low grades. They are genuinely bad and if the terrible instruction doesn't have you failing on its account, it will at the very least cause you much needless suffering. Imagine an environment where teachers can't get fired or reprimanded for even the most serious instruction and professionalism issues. Imagine the type of issues this would bring to the company in the long-run, like harboring terrible instructors and disgusting culture. This is what is happening with the Reno Carrington campus nursing program. The campus started having serious issues, many if not all of the good instructors left, and now almost only the bad are left and the dean cannot afford to let any of them go. To sum up the academic faculty culture: lab instructors are unsafe and have caused multiple accidents this semester alone (during one unsafe act I saw a lab instructor cause an acidic solution to fly into a students eyes that caused the student to have burning eyes the whole night. when she documented it she never wrote she did it, according to the student. This kind of lack of integrity is commonplace here.), nursing academic faculty are rarely prepared, do not communicate with their students well, and show such a level of disorganization in their class structure that I often wonder if some of these 65+ year old instructors have dementia (people make mistakes and are sometimes unprepared, but coming to class late and forgetting what is assigned to be done that day while class is going isn't right and students paying $50k+ deserve better). I could write quite a lot more about the issues with this program, but I just want to instead sum it up by saying this: I am sure people look into this college because it is a 2-year program and TMCC/other colleges are harder to get into. I would STRONGLY suggest first trying to get into ANY other 2-year option for your Reno nursing academic needs, as I am very sure no other school will have issues quite as severe as the Reno Carrington campus currently does for their nursing program. I am already looking for my potential to transfer next term to another school if possible.

This review is based on the Mesquite Campus. Save your money and time!!!! The instructors are horrible their way of lecturing is to read word per word from the book. To begin with one of the instructors for Med Surg is just plain rude and talks down to people. We have spoken to dean about her behavior and lack of knowledge and nothing was done. You do not learn a thing as they do not know how teach but as a student you are automatically supposed to know enoough to pass a HESI after each semester. How we all asked each other if we have not learned a thing this semester. For each class you are supposed to read around 10 chapters because you will have test over them the following week. That is around 30 chapters a week that you wil be tested on , and impossible to learn of off. The test are another thing they are not based on the material you have read so they are NCLEX type questions they say! Then why not teach us the correct way afterall we are here to learn. Horrible Horrible Horrible RUN RUN RUN.... I know that you get drawn into a school that says you can earn your ADN in 2 years or less but at this school you will not. Do your research for this school before coming here.

I strongly suggest you guys look elsewhere. This school is very unprofessional & unorganized. The instructors aren't even intelligent nor have the correct degree to teach a course. They expect you to read 10 chapters on one week & quiz you over 10 questions, like who does that? The professors just read PowerPoints from word to word and don't even hesitate to actually teach us the chapter. The front desk lady is very unprofessional & rolls her eyes when we ask for a certain staff. Point blank period they are just trying to take your money.
