"The professors do not care or are not fully knowledgeable of their subject matter. When asking questions they don’t answer/give short generic answer. After 1yr I still do not have a job because hospitals don’t recognize Carrington or NHA credentials. They told me I could begin applying while in school and that some companies may even pay for school… these were lies. It is very frustrating to have paid all this money for school and STILL be unemployed!"

"There is not ONE SINGLE POSITIVE thing that I could say about Carrington! I truly wish I could have made ratings of NO STARS after giving several ONE STARS. I learned NOTHING I did not already know. I expected to be taught how to code. Of the 9 months I wasted attending, we might have covered ACTUAL coding for no more than a SINGLE MONTH! The other 8 months covered basics; writing, terminology and general topics of little import to my career. Financial Counselor basically pulled a "bait-and-switch". "You qualify for multiple grants and discounts ... " I qualified for NOTHING and was stuck with 2 loans. What I received was not worth the paper my 'certification' was printed on. Job placement assistance was a joke! Promised positions in the $30-$35 range. No employers/positions offered directly was anything over $20. If I wanted to follow up or get any direction, I had to call them. TLDR: If you've worked in something close to your chosen field, you already know ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING they will be "teaching" you."

"Im stunned to see the reviews are so low for this school. I absolutely loved it. And I think that for anyone unhappy with this place, would be because they didnt try hard. You get out what you put in. I got my Billing Cert. I got hired immediately. I have been employed the entire time. And never thought id make it as far as I have. I bet if my entire class reviewed Carrington, they'd say the same. I recommend this school. I would go again just for fun. Spokane was tight knit, great instructors and staff. The students cared and encouraged each other. Thank you, Carrington. Kenny Ryan Spokane, Wa campus class of 2012"

"This school is a joke. Especially the Portland, Or. campus. They talk a good game to get you enrolled and then show their true colors after the fact. To parents who have younger adults enrolling... go with your children, read the fine print, and record conversations if possible. These people told may lies and tried to force me to pull student loans when I told them I was not interested and had another way that I would pay for my tuition. The person who enrolled never told me about the add drop period and when I decided to leave two weeks into my program, I was told that I would still be charged for the books, iPad, and two uniforms even though I never wore them. I was told to bring the uniform back to the school if it did not fit, but they could not take the uniforms back because I had removed the plastic from one of them to try on at home like I was told to do even though it was never worn to the school or anywhere else because of Covid-19. After I filed a BBB complaint, the tuition due for the time I spent with Carrington College was erased as a “customer service gesture,” but the school still hit me with a bill of $2,474 for the given supplies because the books and iPad were opened. They were so salty that I’d decided to further my education elsewhere that they were going to stick me with a bill regardless. I don’t know about any of the other campuses, but the one in Portland, OR. is not it."

"I have been going to Carrington College for about 3 months now for Medical Billing and Coding. I must say I am not very impressed in any way. For the price of the program (15000+) The program has not offered real world education. A lot of class time is wasted. Nothing changes as the weeks go by. same discussions same format, same types of papers and powerpoints, as the weeks go by nothing new is introduced. New students are mixed with Students that have been in class for Months it makes no sense. This program is 9 months but 3 months of the education I have received could be taught in less then a week. But I personally think in my own opinion that its about money and slowing dragging a class out for money. Bottom Line I am not impressed with the program, school, instructors and the price of this program is not worth the education you receive."

"I have never in my life been so disappointed with any establishment. They put me through 6 weeks of school working my butt off ( I have 5 kids to boot) to tell me that my homeschool diploma was not acceptable. I told them before I ever even started that I had a non accredited diploma and they said it was fine and still allowed me to start. I then asked if I could keep going if I got my GED, and I have an actual email where they said yes. So, once again, I studied my butt off and got my GED in 2 weeks, (On top off getting A's in classes) only for them to tell me it doesn't matter and they won't accept it. They then tried to charge me $3,000 for only 6 weeks (the whole certificate only cost $8,000 with a grant) and start over. I had to get a lawyer involved and they ended up charging me $254 for physical books. I am no longer in school and am very leary to try again. I am so disgusted with their lies and money hunger. I am so glad not to be a part of this "school" anymore and can't believe that they are allowed to get away with doing this to people."

"I made the mistake of thinking this would be easy online. It wasn't. The exams were a joke because I was given several books and then the instructor said I was using the wrong book or not in the right category even when I had the same questions for hw and I was getting 100s. The instructor was based out of AZ where the time change is only an hour ahead. There has also been an issue of after withdrawing within three weeks they continue to send me bills saying I owe them $ 202.49. For what?? I owe them nothing!! I filed a Ripoff Report and hope they are sued."
