"For the people who had good experiences with the schools and the instructors you don't understand the peoeple who have negative things to say about the school and the program because you didn't experience what they did, doesn't make it not the truth. I attended one of the vocational schools medical assistant programs and finished and had a good instructor (but I haven't found a job not from lack of trying and my internship was never hiring they just use lots of interns all the time to fill their employment roster so they never hire) and it's not from lack of skill on my part of experience because I have experience in medical just not as an MA, I attended that same school for a prior program and had a horrible (the two instructors who taught the class could care less what they were teaching, and were very careless with their safety methods and were always late because they say they drove long distance to come teach our class) they needed more than supervision and training even though they were up in age they should have known what they were doing (point is they didn't care) and that is why I dropped out of the program and the school paid me a partial refund.It's not always just the school it's a luck of the draw who you get as an instructor their experience and if they give a d--. It's best to really do your homework when shopping around for a school and to shop around for an employer before you decide to go back to school, call employers and ask what their looking for and what they will except from a new hire a degree or a diploma or a certificate and will they be will to employee someome with only internship as their experience. Do the homework yourself don't just rely on the school to tell you the work is their because you will owe a ton on money potentially and the school will be paid and you will owe the bank and in the end that will just be your problem. Remember the school is in the business of making money first and foremost. Best of luck to everyone."

"I went to Carrington College and graduated July of 2011. I am only 19 years old.If you want to go to this school, i suggest you DONT take the medical assisting program. Why? Because over 600 people graduate at the same time as you do, WITH YOU. And do you think all those 600 medical assistants will find a job after they graduate? NO. I currently work at a law office now, and thinking about studying law.I feel like i wasted 16,000 dollars on this program. They dont help you to find a job, you sometimes might get a call from you advisor saying " oh theres a lot of ads on craiglist, ill email them to you so you can send your resume" . Little that they know that I go on craigslist EVERYDAY and apply, so I stopped answering their annoying calls. If you have a hook up after you graduate, GO FOR IT. If you don't then your pretty much screwed or maybe you might just get lucky! Again.. waste of money. Just trying to help people out."

"I wish i had never dont this program and my whole entire class thought the same. Our teacher was new and had no idea what she was doing everything we learned was just from the book. All our quizes were vocab. I felt totally lost when i did my externship. Not to metion it was at tigard dental and the dentist there was a total jerk, ruined the whole experience for me.I have no taste for assiting anymore or even wanna go to the dentist. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Me and my friend were even in the same class and niether one of us are even assisting now. Total waste of 10 grand im so mad at PCC for school .... anywhere but here."

"This school was the biggest mistake ever!!!!!!!!!! I dedicated so much time effort and money and I still am waiting for a externship!!!!!!!! I have been patient with my instructor but keep geting the run around. I keep being avoided and I cant get a hold of any body and its very frustrating!!!!!! Half the time we never had the supplies we needed in lab and when we did anyone was to lazy to show us how to use them!!!!!!!!!! This school had soo many problems we were always out a teacher, we spent so much lab time standing around, and we were treated like garbage.... When we tried to adress our issues to the teachers they wouldnt isten just get offensive!!!!!!! I thought we were geting teachers not professional readers, class was a waste all we would do is sit there and have our modules red to us like a bed time story word for word! I couLd read at home by myself I dont need to sit in class WASTING 4 hrs being red to in monotone! DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY YOU COULD BE THE BEST STUDENT BUT YOU WILL STILL GET SCREWED!!!!! EVEN IF YOU DO YOUR PART THE INSTRUCTORS DONT DO THEIRS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"I was really scared but now I love it!! I have heard both good and bad about this school but I think that is the case with any school. I really like our instructor,Mrs. Strain, at the Citrus Heights campus. She has a lot of experience and she expects a lot from us. It is hard work but I think it will pay off in the long run. I have a job during the day, go to school at night and have two kids. I've been able to do it, and I am not exactly young!! I would recommend this college to anyone. Jennifer"

"I am in my first term at the Antioch location and enjoying it! All my teachers are wonderful. They don't just teach you the basics to get by the teach you beyond. I just want to say no matter what school you go to if you don't put in the effort you will fail. I was in the RN program at Chabot Community Callege and it was crazy. Teachers didnt treat all students the same. Anywho check out Carringtion's NCLEX pass rate for the board of VN. 100%; 85% and 100% pass rates. That's great! Check other schools pass rates. Love the Antioch campus."

Long ago when I first attended nursing school, the Associates of Applied Science Degree in Nursing was just being introduced.I attended such a program and my career has developed into a life long learning of helping and healing others. Remember the AD programs are beginning programs that enable you to sit for your NCLEX-RN exam. It is a starting point, your personality, skills, charisma and person you are within help to move you along the path of nursing. According to the Arizona State Board of Nursing, Nursing schools are only required to have Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) credentials and licensure for a clinical instructor.However, Carrington is dedicated to higher performance and is interviewing experts in clinical specialty as evidenced by national certification and Master Level nursing degrees with education foci. Just as some hospitals are for Profit, so are schools, remember Profit schools place their students as customers, non-profit schools place students as numbers. Dedicated professors that want to nurture the future generation of nurses, are key to didactic and clinical delivery of nursing education, but THE STUDENT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR OWN EDUCATION. In the end, it is your patients life and wellbeing that matter, not the dollars you paid for your education.The AD program gets you started, the "trip" depends on your goal "destination" so set a goal so you know when you have arrived. I love to teach, I am dedicated to critical thinking, remember the NCLEX-RN is based off critical thinking blue prints. If you want to pass, start learning how to critically think. Remember, exposure to new nursing experiences helps foster growth. So if you are a nursing student that sits in the back of the growd, you need to change that behavior, how? Easy, simply move to the front. See how easy it is to critically think..But it takes YOU to do it, and that is the same as your education. They will attempt to bait you with free application, paying for your transcripts all to get you to pay nearly 25,000 for an Associate degree! Go to your community College. Carrington College California will act like you are special and they think you are a great fit! Everyone is to them! "I have had a wonderful experience at the school. I went through the medical assisting program and have had no problems getting a job. I dont understand what people are talking about saying the teachers are never there and leave hours early. I go to school from 6 40 until 10 00 and our teacher has always been there. when she took a day off we had an instructor from day time come in and teach us. not one time has our class been cancelled or rescheduled.I have a sister that went here also and got a job. My best friend went through it and got a job at a top OBGYN. They teach you enough to get you out on the field but it is up to you to make it through probation period.If you dont know your material, of course your not going to make it! pay attention in class and you will be fine! Do not go to this school if you think its like a community college where you can slack off and miss days. everyone that comes to school everyday and works will get a great experience with a great job after!"

"I thought stealing was a crime...That's exactly what this school does to it's students, or should i say customers. They see a potential student as a walking and talking money sign. They sit there and give you salary figures to motivate you to sign up when in reality they have no information to back it up. You're advisor only talks to you long enough to sign up for the program and coincidentally forgets your name after they get the signature on the contract.I had the worse instructor money could buy. She claims she was a Dentist in another country but never went into detail about it. Even if that woman offered to teach for free I would absolutely decline. And every day i would spend in class was money i was spending on the the most minimal lessons. The students were basically paying to hear about how tired the teacher was from her day class at HEALD college( mind you we were the evening class at WCC. Heald being WCC's competitor).We did not like asking her questions because she would belittle you in front of everybody and had a rude almost intimidating tone to her voice. It often felt like we were getting in trouble by our mom if we asked her anything. She would often make sly remarks about how her day time students were doing more challenging work than our class.A very basic skill needed everyday in dentistry is the ability to chart a patients teeth and restorations (i.e fillings, material of fillings, surfaces of teeth and the numbers that correspond with the teeth). Knowing that this is an extremely important skill I can count on ONE hand how many times the teacher had us chart in class. Even if we ASKED to chart that day she would take a vote and when the lazy students would out vote us she would of course comply with them.Our class was fairly small at most 12-14 students at a time. Which would make you think that we would receive thorough one-on-one lessons but that was never the case. You would constantly hear students state that she was a "bad" teacher because of her lack of enthusiasm or inability to help us. Eventually one by one (maybe 3 or 4 total) went to the head of the dental program to speak to her boss. We explained that we were not receiving the skills that we were paying for. We wanted somebody on our side to see what we saw and take action. But, of course nothing was done until the final person went in to say their piece. At that point they finally had the Dean of the school sit in class for a lesson. This was obviously discussed with our teacher prior to the visit because when the Dean arrived our teacher was on her BEST behavior. She definitely went above and beyond her duties. The very next day she was back to normal. It was upsetting and we all realized that we were all just money in that schools pocket which meant we had no voice to them.Towards the end of my program I took it upon myself to find the help i needed to finish. I knew i wouldn't get any from her. I would come in during the day time class to get help from other instructors and attend my night class to sit through the lecture and take my test. It was difficult to attend both of the classes but I wanted to graduate the earliest i could.When it was finally time for my off site externship the career service advisor i was assigned to was absolutely no help. I had to take it upon myself to find my own office (my sister helped me get an interview at the office she worked for NOT the advisor). I gave her the information of the office thinking she old make the call since i had given her the information she had asked for. It wasn't until the week before i was SUPPOSED to start my externship that i found out she had never called the office to confirm I would be there that next Monday. At this point i was so sick of this school and their careless mistakes which could easily be taken as incompetence. I was so stressed out and asked her why she hadn't called and she stated "It's not my job to call the office if you found it" I was never told that in the entire time i was working with her. Naturally i had reached my boiling point and just wanted to get out of there.I didn't even attend my graduation at the school because I didn't want to waste my time or gas being around people i worked so hard to get away from. I would NEVER recommend this school to anybody. It's the biggest scam, believe me."

"I got my medical assisting cert. 4 years ago and got a job right away as a Medical Assistant/Medical Biller. I loved my teachers and made so many good friends. Now I am in the VN program and I am so excited for my future career. The program is super challenging, but do-able when you put your mind to it. I have a family so I am thankful that I chose a program that will accomodate my schedule and I can spend the evenings at home with them w/o loads upon loads of homework. The staff is so helpful at the San Jose campus; especially my counselor and my career services advisor. I never feel rushed when talking to them."

"I had a wonderful experince at school, i had the hands on experience required. I had Mr. Sanchez as my istructor and he spoke nothing but the truth about the field. He was on point, very educated sometimes i thought a doctor was teaching our class bacause of the way he spoke. He understands his students, works harder then some the other instructors and goes out of his way for his students. There are students that want to be in his class because they heard of him. Yes, he is a hard teacher and really wants his students to know their stuff to be successful out in the field. Just liek i am."

"This is a good school if you want to learn how to become a dental assistant. This school is challenging and the instructors are helpful. I did not like that the price is so expensive, but I was able to get a job right after finishing school. It did help me prepare for my future."

"I went here 5 years ago and had no trouble getting a job as a Medical Assistant. They prepared me so well it was almost like no transition shock when I went to work. The instructors are very knowledgeable and helpful and they gave me a great education."
