"I think this is the best program in the country. The teachers strive to help you succeed because if you fail, they fail. It is a lot of work but prepares you for medical school. The only downside is the cost of attendance. It is quite high."

"The pros of my graduate program are: the program has exposed me to numerous social justice issues, is helping to professionalize the social work profession, has prepared me for direct and macro social work practice, has connected me to professionals in the area, has challenged me in research and leadership, and has pushed me to learn more about the issues faced by my clients. The cons are that students in my program come from all over northeastern Ohio and I do not feel that we have a cohesive student body community."

"My Program, M.S. in Medical Physiology is designed to help you transition into becoming either a medical or dental student. With my training at Case, I was able to stand out and gain acceptance into the University of Maryland, Doctor of Dental Surgery progam! The program truely helped me achieve my goals."

"Cleveland is a great city to live in because it has a diverse nightlife and restaurant options as well as many breweries coupled with The Cleveland Orchestra and Museum of Art which are world renowned. All of this is in a city that has a very reasonable cost of living. The Chemistry Department at Case Western Reserve University is not well known and is ranked only 67 by the US News and World Report in 2013. However, the Medical School, polymer science, and energy research are well known and high ranked in the USA. In addition, the Chemistry Department is across the street from University Hospitals and a 5 minute walk from the Cleveland Clinic. University Hospitals has a Comprehensive Cancer Center, recognized by the NIH, that collaborates with the Cleveland Clinic and other medical institutions throughout Ohio to initiate clinical trials and other patient related research. In summary, Case Western Reserve University's Chemistry Department has numerous opportunities for collaborations that are of high quality. When you are considering a graduate program, don't just compare rankings, but compare the entire research environment."

"Pros: - Professors are all willing to help when you first start. - classes are challenging and there are many different lab experiences. Cons: - department should provide more events that opens the opportunities for people who want to go in to industry after graduation. Since only about 10% of the graduate students actually go in to academics. Job search advice is very limited in the department. - department along with graduate school should provide more social events for the graduate students, for example maybe do something with the med or dental school to provide more social events with other people for different departments."

"I feel like my experience has been good with plenty of opportunity to get hands on research experience. Professors are very personable and helpful and willing to go the extra mile, however they don't have much experience with getting jobs so the career help is minimal, but they are willing to help you in any way possible. Classes are expectedly challenging, but most students work with each other and help each other out rather than compete to see who can be the best. However I feel like there is not much of a social experience to it, not many activities planned and the ones that are planned are not something I am interested in. However being in downtown Cleveland, there is plenty to do if you can find it on your own."

"Each adviser is different and has a different program to offer a student. Considering having a life outside of the program, well good thing you're in Cleveland, so you're not missing out on much. Personal issues related to family can negatively affect your work relationship with your adviser if you are a woman. There is a reason why women who go on to pursue their PhD don't start a family until their 30s."

"The chemistry graduate program at CWRU is a good mix of a small school and a research one institution. Most of the students in research groups are willing to help; it's not so competitive that you're worrying that someone will feed you bad information or sabotage your work. Some major pros: Collaborations are common. There is excellent access to the literature. There is a lot of instrumentation available to use. There are hosted social activities. There is counseling support. The bus and train system are very useful, and with the student bus pass, a commuter can save quite a bit. Health insurance is subsidized. Cons: It's a smaller program, so when things break, they might not get fixed quickly. Many of the things that make up the graduate student experience in terms of the program are reliant upon your advisor, which includes funding (therefore TAing), treatment, quality of life, and so on. Cleveland is actually a pretty awesome city once you learn about the museums, theatre district, restaurants, and general city life. It's a place that is really starting to build itself up."

"I like our program. One of my favorite things about it is that it is small, so there is a lot of one on one with professors and advisors. Everybody gets the attention they need."

"I have really loved my time at CWRU so far, almost all of the faculty is very helpful, but for some of my friends which are graduating, they seem to be struggling to find jobs. Not all advisors seem to play as active of a role in this crucial step (for the record, many students are looking to stay in the Cleveland area which is adding to the difficulties)."

"The university itself is quite expensive, as is the housing in the area, but I could not have chosen a better program. The faculty are all incredibly talented and I've always been able to approach any of them with a question or a concern. The level of personal involvement is outstanding. One of the wonderful things about this program is we are highly encouraged to collaborate with the other students, faculty, and visiting scholars, which helps ensure that we fully understand all the elements that go into research and that we come out of the program knowing how to make a strong study."

"The Weatherhead Part-Time MBA program offers a lot of flexibility for busy full-time employee. The course selection made available to the part-time MBA student population offers some flexibility for choosing an area of concentration/major. Professors appear to be very willing to work with part-time students and their busy outside professional lives. Finally, Weatherhead makes great effort to make the latest technologies available to the student population. If there is a con it would be that certain courses are not always offered during hours convenient for the part-time student population. While I have found many courses to satisfy my acamedice requirements, scheduling courses for my ideal major (Finance) was next to impossible."

"The Medical Program is based on a self-directed learning framework, however students are provided with the necessary resources to do well. Although the class times are relatively minimal, other activities including clinic time can occupy the students' time. On a positive note, clinical exposure have been very relevant and have aided tremendously in learning the material."

"CWRU SOM has a great curriculum that is systems based with vertical learning through lecture, anatomy, histology/pathology and physical exam skills. Its great to reiterate information this way. The staff is very responsive and helpful if you have questions. There are great tutoring services. Although Cleveland isn't my ideal city, its a great environment grad school; there aren't too many distractions but there's plenty to do if you need a study break e.g. FOOD! We get a lot of early exposure to the different medical fields that are more in-depth than shadowing."
