"Safe area, great education for great future career opportunities but little to no diversity"

"Great school! I'm back in school twenty years after finishing my undergrad. This program was designed for working adults, so it fits into my busy schedule. Best decision I've made this year."

"I did not know what to expected in this program, but it has exceeded my expectations. I have recommended it to several of my friends who are wanting to go back to school."

"Like anywhere, there are positives and negatives and it really depends on what you are looking for as to attend this university or not. Overall, I think the school and program are satisfactory."

"I might be a a tad biased as I am extremely disappointed with my actual academic program. But in general the school is pretty good!"

"Since I have started attending CMU I have gain so much knowlege and understanding about diversity, genuiness, empathy, and self, disclosure, and. Really I want to thank Dr. SĀ for allowing me to change my behavior. And to process my feelings and Emotions."

"This is my first semester using CMU online courses. The classes are fast moving, but very interesting and informative. My professors have been quick to respond with any questions or concerns I may have had. I am aware that I may need to have a proctor for exams. However, none of my classes so far have required this. I did check with my local library, and I am able to arrange to have any exams neccesary to be proctored there. So far, my experience at CMU has been very positive."

"Hello, this is my first year at CMU. My first class is an online course. I was told that I need to identify a proctor for exams. They suggested one of their centers or my local library. My local library doesn't proctor exams nor does the University of Michigan libraries (I work at U of M).CMU is not user friendly to students who work traditional work hours such as M-F 8:00-5:00 p.m. I was told that if I wanted to use one of the centers I would have to come before 5:00 p.m., or come on my lunch hour, or make an appt. during working hours. I was shocked! I now have to use Washtenaw Community College testing center and pay $30.00 to have each exam proctored."

"Central Michigan University is a nice small town campus. Everything is with in walking distance in which you feel very safe. There are book stores and gift shops right on campus. The campus looks like a garden. The library is beautiful with its travertine exterior. In my case, the geology department was great. The professor's were very knowledgeable. One of the leading Geologist was the "Rock" Professor, with several published text books under his belt. The campus setting is friendly and the people are helpful. The housing for the campus is very diverse. Anywhere from dorms, apartments to married housing and fairly priced. Other resturants, night clubs and shopping malls are close by, as well. For a big fun night out on the town the Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort is just minutes away from the campus. What a wonderful experience to be part of Central Michigan University. What I would improve? Absolutely nothing. It would be worth you while to visit the campus and the surrounding areas to get a taste of what college should be like."

"My experience at Central Michigan University online was overall extremely positive. At first I was skeptical that online education could provide the same quality as traditional classroom learning but that thought quickly went away. The faculty are all experts in their fields and the classwork was challanging. Using virtual classrooms, online chat sessions, email and bulletin boards, I never felt alone. There was always someone I could find to help me with my questions. Learning online also allowed me to juggle my career and family. Courses can be taken around my schedule. My one disappointment was the lack of research resources. CMU offered some online databases but they were inadequate for many of my papers and I had to rely on many sources of information. ' Overall my experience was a geat one."
