"Cerritos College Registered Nursing Program is a National League of Nursing (NLN) and Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) accredited Associates Degree in Nursing program that prepares nurses to take the NCLEX-RN (National Council Licensure Examination-Registered Nurse) exam. With its state-of-the-art skills laboratory facility, nursing students at Cerritos College have a wide access to skills lab resources, including mannequins, lung and heart sound trainers, Foley catheters, wound care equipment, nasogastric tubes, and much more. Each semester consists of a clinical day preparation where students rotate in different stations with specialized faculty members to gain exposure and demonstration from specified nursing skill curriculum. The method of learning involves a combination of lecture, audio, powerpoints, in-class activities, case studies, and Kaplan-integrated practice tests. The classroom environment is interactive and open to students to ask questions and receive feedback answers. Peer mentors, faculty mentors, and tutors are available to students in need of one-to-one assistance on study skills or comprehension of the course content. The faculty also provides counseling and guidance on job placement post-graduation. Financial aid and government fee waivers are available to assist students with low income. Many students who graduate from the program continue their nursing education to pursue bachelors, masters, and doctoral degrees."
