"When I was in high school, I had this ambitious dream of being a typical college student. Going to the state university, living in the dorms, frat parties and all. So I enrolled, paid my housing fee, and found a roommate. In April 2012, a month before graduation I knew something was not right. A huge school with classes in auditoriums, pep rallies and football games, student loans... that was not me. I realized that I was conforming to what I thought the college life was supposed to be like, and for some that's great! For me, not so much. So after a meeting with my college counselor and an extremely stressful last month of high school, I was accepted and enrolled into Colorado Mountain College, attending their Spring Valley location. This was the best decision that I ever made. Small classes, teachers that actually know your name, a 12,000 ft. peak outside my dorm room window, this was me! This is exactly where I was supposed to be. With an affordable tuition, I was able to graduate with nearly no debt and I feel just as successful as my friends that attended larger universities. I would rate CMC as an amazing, non traditional college experience that caters to individuals of all different backgrounds."
