"Colorado State University is ranked well nationally for their veterinary school program. The professors are very knowledgeable and have the resources to make learning interesting. The curriculum is traditional and you spend a lot of time in the classroom for your first two years, however, the Veterinary Teaching Hospital is close and a great learning tool. There are clubs and extracurricular activities for both the veterinary students and pre-veterinary students."

"CSU's doctor of veterinary medicine program is one of the top in the country. The educational experience is exceptional. I especially appreciate the teaching faculty and the repetition of pertinent material. The disadvantage I feel this program holds is the competitive nature among students. It can be challenging to learn in an environment that fosters this mentality. Otherwise I am very appreciative of my education at CSU and I am excited to get out into the working world of veterinary medicine!"

"Great program but the out of state tuition and expenses are very hard to deal with."

"Great program - CSU is one of to DVM programs in nation. Highly recommend Fort Collins as place to complete graduate school. Great hands-on learning in a very supportive environment."

"As one of the highest ranking veterinary schools and microbiology departments in the country, I am truly honored to be a Ph.D student in this college. My education and research experience is second to none, and will more than prepare me for my future as a wildlife disease specialist. Members of my cohort have done extremely well in post-graduate work, and I fully expect the same prospects. Perhaps the only con for our field as of late is the lack of federal funding, which unfortunately increases the competitiveness for grants, which can cause some tension amongst the faculty. However, overall my experience thus far has been second to none, and being located in the most beautiful region of the country is just an additional bonus!"

"The DVM program at CSU is truly a phenomenal experience, but it is a very pricey one too. I think the only way to justify going to vet school at all is if it is truly your calling. If you have any doubt about that then take some extra time before committing to the cost and the program. IF becoming a vet is truly your passion, then you won't be sorry you went to CSU. The facilities are great and are constantly being updated, the instructors are top notch, and Fort Collins is an amazing place to live - there is tons to do and the cost of living is reasonable."
