"The Sustainability Management program is great for students who already have prior work experience or for students who are working while completing the degree part-time. The sustainability field is very broad and students without relevant work experience might choose classes that seem interesting but aren't necessarily teaching them skills that can be applied in a professional setting. The program also does not place a strong emphasis on recruiting, so students without prior experience with applying for jobs are at a disadvantage. The program is great for students who currently have a job or for students who have at least 1 year of relevant experience. I completed this degree while working full-time during the day, and after a year of classes I advanced within my firm. The program is demanding but is structured so that students can hold a full-time job during the day and attend classes in the evening."

"The resources that Columbia university offers is great and the brand really counts. But most of the courses in the Sustainability Management do not go deep into anything and are usually very basic.Would not recommend it to any full time students if you are an international student.I did not see any worth in this degree. The opportunities after you graduate aren't many after you graduate. Each course costs a ridiculous amount and money and mostly isnt even worth it."

"The Sustainability Management program at Columbia University is very flexible, making it perfect for young professionals interested in adding a sustainability dimension to their careers, as well as for students that have just graduated from college hoping to gain more hands on, practical tools before beginning their careers. There is a wide array of classes to choose from, allowing students to specialize in the area of their choice (i.e. Energy, Water, Corporate sustainability, sustainability economics/finance, and more). Students can also set their own pace, from spreading the program across 3 years to finishing it in 3 semesters."

"I have really enjoyed the warmth, love, energy and support of Columbia's faculty, administration as well as the students that make it such a great school. Being in New York also enables students to constantly be in contact with professionals from Wall Street, the UN as well as other high-profile companies, organizations and individuals. Another highlight of Columbia as well as my program is the way in which lessons are taught theoretically as well as practically with a view to bring students out of the classroom and experience the world. I have enjoyed every bit of my Columbia experience so far. I do hope that you will too!"

"The MPA in Environmental Science and Policy program is excellent because it provides a unique mix of science and policy studies that most other programs do not offer. The professors are excellent and because it starts in summer it gives us a chance to get the entire university's undivided attention initially. The con is that the course is extremely expensive and so is the cost of living. Given Columbia's brand I think it will eventually pay off through a good job but one can never be certain!"
