"Great place for grad school. Beautiful campus. Amazing peers and social life. The snow and harsh winters are a bit of a problem, but one gets used to it. Bump up the campus safety and we will be on top!"

"Great facilities, funding and advising for research. The only complaint, so to say, that I have is that there isn't a variety of grad level courses in my field (ECE)."

"Cornell sociology: Great faculty, inspiring courses, good funding and resources, collegiate environment, quantitatively oriented. Academic concentrations: economic sociology, social network, inequalities The PhD program might have been designed to be quite open-ended. Could be a bit challenging for students who have a relatively weak background in sociology and methodology."

"I think that most students realize what they are getting when they choose to come to Cornell. It is an Ivy League school so it is not surprising that the athletics aren't the biggest draw. I have gone to basketball and volleyball games while here and enjoyed them. Also, hockey is a very popular sporting event to attend here. However, the academics are excellent and the resources here are great too. It is a college town, so the town is open and friendly to students partially since they know the university drives a lot of the business in the area. The transportation is great. And the areas that I scored lower, like campus housing, I know that the worst ones are going to be renovated soon and the best ones are actually pretty good. Overall, as long as you don't mind the cold, Cornell is a good place to do your PhD. I have made good friends here and the grad student association plans lots of activities to help students interact. Otherwise, it is a good opportunity to get lots of research done without as many distractions as might be found in bigger cities."

"I've been here for 6 years now, as an undergrad and now a grad student. I would rate my overall experience as fairly good - the school feels very focused on undergrads however."

"Ithaca can be difficult if you really love city life, but the options for outdoor activities are excellent. Cornell itself is great. My faculty have been very supportive and helpful."

"Really enjoy the faculty and classes, Ithaca is a great city to live in, but it is not always the most exciting place to be"

"Overall, the graduate programs are really great at Cornell. The only downsides are somewhat limited graduate housing on/near campus and a lack of parking on campus for commuting students. The transportation system is great for students who live nearby but less so for students who live further away."
