"The students consist to a large extent of people working full-time, and thus most lectures take place in the evening. This represents a good networking opportunity with professionals who work in public administration and with non-profits. It is a public university and as such, the buildings have "character". Nevertheless, the quality of education is solid, and faculty and administration have a great attitude and will do their best to assist students with whatever problems they might have. "Professors are leaders in their fields and have real world wisdom to impart. The college is always keeping us abreast of job and internship openings. The program could stand to be more selective, however. Some of my peers could stand to read a newspaper daily or take public speaking and debate courses."

"Baruch College is affordable and offers a great bang for your buck. The tutoring center has limited availability and the class selection could definitely be better. The classes are rigorous and the professors are extraordinarily passionate and professional. The neighborhood is little bit inconvenient and I wish that the college offered more online classes, but they are working on expanding into online learning a little bit more."

"Please note that my ratings are based on the fact that the majority of my program is administered via distance education (online) and I am in an accelerated program, so I only take courses on Baruch's campus during the summer months. The location is fantastic! You're in Manhattan (Midtown to be exact). Close to public transit, tons of restaurants to eat at, and plenty of things to do in the area (but you will always be broke because it's so expensive to live here). In comparison to the rest of the NYC, the school is not very ethnically diverse, but that is not a drawback, it's just an observation. I wish Baruch was more of a "traditional" campus, instead of the majority of the school being housed in one building (Vertical Campus). Also wish they had legitimate student housing (they contract with a student housing company instead of having their own campus housing). Having housing near campus would be ideal. I really enjoy the professors and the coursework. I have utilized everything I have learned in the classroom in my personal and professional life. The major drawback for me is the library and the school's technology. They are several years behind my undergraduate institution. The library, doesn't have enough places to study, or enough outlets and desk space to plug in computers. It is a total pain to print on campus as well (and very expensive - 20 cents per page) I usually print at Staples because they are cheaper). "The MPA program in Baruch is a good tool in learning domestic policy and public administration, most specifically city public administration. The courses offered are very concentrated on learning about city policies. It is a very good program for someone who is looking to learn more about how to effective administer policies in the domestic level."

"I have just begun my graduate studies at Baruch College of Public Affairs, therefore I do not have much of an opinion of the pros and cons of the graduate program. However, by attending the "meet & greet" and orientation I can say that thus far I have been impressed with the appearance of support available. As a new student, it is easy to become lost very quickly however I was introduced to all departments from technology to the library, career and counseling services. The two events that I attended promoted networking and social life but also included the faculty which gave me the impression that the professors are committed to spending time getting to know their students.The only con I have so far with my limited experience at Baruch is that there is virtually no help with financial aid. There are no grants awarded to graduate students which is disappointing because living in New York City, one of the most expensive cities in the country, trying to pay for graduate school can be the source of much stress.Read Less"

"I enjoy the Public Administration program at Baruch. The professors are knowledgeable and dedicated in assisting students with understanding the work material. However their is a lack of assistance available for part time graduate students.Graduate students who work full time jobs and attend courses during the evening must take time out of there day if they want to speak to an adviser or to the financial aid office to discuss any financial opportunities. Baruch fails to communicate any of this information via their mass blast emails to students.Read Less"

"Baruch's MPA program is a great value. It's affordable and well-regarded in New York City, and the faculty are generally excellent. The program is not as rigorous as some others in the NYC area, but if you are truly there to learn, you will come away with an excellent education."

"I love the location and opportunities available to students since the college is located in such a diverse city. The professors are all knowledgable in their respective areas of study. A con would be not having enough events for the part-time night students. Many seminars, speeches, events etc. are held during work hours, so I am rarely able to attend them."
