DePaul University Reviews
DePaul was my dream school. The mission and values set forth by St. Vincent DePaul truly reflects who I am as a citizen and a humanitarian. My experience at DePaul exceed my expectations. The staff is very encouraging and supportive of your educational endeavors. There are many opportunities available at DePaul to aid you in succeeding and accomplishing your goals. I have since completed my Master's degree in Information systems and I studied abroad in Brazil. Currently, I'm working on my third degree from DePaul, the Masters of Art in Educating Adults. In addition, I am also an adjunct faculty member.
This was a good college, had a great music school. However, I had much better scholarships to other schools that had "good" music programs. I wish I would have done that instead to avoid the student debt I have.
I had a nice balance of happy and motivated professors and students. Maybe should've focused more on a specific trade and major. One of the few central Chicago Universities
DePaul is not only a great school, but it's nestled in the heart of Chicago with a thriving urban campus. It's a great spot for students looking to connect with professionals in between class to really jumpstart their career.
I enjoyed the education that I received at DePaul University, especially the challenging courses. Sense of community was often lacking though.
DePaul is a place that has many opportunities to volunteer and connect with community outside of the university. That said, DePaul is a great community that fosters self-care and support. It is a college in a city that emphasizes the need to get to know the city outside of DePaul. While you feel you are in college, you also feel a sense beyond being just in school.
Received a premium education at the same time enjoyed my experiences.
I learned leadership through several senior projects. These projects required me to move out of my comfort zone and push me to exceed in areas such as relationship building, leadership courage and ultimately resulting in a sucessful group project. The experience that I gained translated to my profressional work life as well as home life.
I attended the DePaul University's School of New Learning (SNL) graduating in 1995 with a degree in Counseling. This program is very well organized and helpful to working adults like myself obtaining a college degree. I worked full time and went to school full time, which was a challenge timewise, but the schools flexible class schedules and the ability for me to create my own portfolio of classes enabled me to get my degree. I was able to get credit for close to 2 years of school through my prior work experience so I saved both time and money on my way. I customized the remaining required classes to match my major, counseling mixing regular DePaul classes during the day and SNL classes at night and on the weekend. Overall the experience was very positive for me.
At the time I applied for the MPS program, I was working for a non-profit. The degree helped us with review of current practices and also helped as I went on to establish my own non-profit. Very practical application of coursework to career and writing my thesis was likely the most important educational experience that I had. DePaul's values and location in the City if Chicago makes it a special place (note that I also completed my undergraduate degree there as well).
