"My experiences at East Stroudsburg University were excellent! I earned my undergraduate degree Bachelor of Science in Recreational Therapy. The program was small and the professors were tremendous. They knew us by name and were unbelievably understanding and supportive. As a non-traditional student, I served our country as a member of the United States Army National Guard. The professors and staff at East Stroudsburg University were extremely accommodating and understood the demands of service. They worked with me pertaining to assignments and deadlines that conflicted with my duties as a soldier in the Army National Guard. To this end, I am extremely grateful. Additionally, I was encouraged by my wife Alicia to pursue a career in education as a teacher of students with disabilities. My college advisor went the mile with me to assist in this pursuit, as I needed two additional classes in the arena of special education (outside of my major). She approved the taking of these classes, which opened the door for my alternative route endeavor to become teacher certified in New Jersey. When it was all said and done, I earned 5 teaching certifications in New Jersey upon graduating with my degree in Recreational Therapy from East Stroudsburg University. My advisor also pointed out that if the state of New Jersey was providing the alternate route option, it was more cost effective not to switch majors thus I took the required courses New Jersey needed for my intended certifications. In all, I love what I do today and am extremely grateful for the mentoring, assistance, and support I received at East Stroudsburg University."

"I loved my graduate program. All of the professors were extremely helpful especially when I felt like I was in over my head. I was to discuss different ideas and concerns openly with them. The faculty went above and beyond to ensure I had everything needed to succeed both educational and professionally. I graduated a year ago and they still reach out to me for updates and to offer assistance if needed. The program was completely hands-on with very little use of textbooks. There was heavy technology use but the faculty was understanding and considerate of the various demographics of the students."

"Pretty campus. Small faculty which sucks but they do their best and are very helpful. No concentrations but a well rounded program."

"Unfortunately I am only able to go off of 1 class. The professor wasn't available during office hours and we never received or work back on time so it was hard to access how you were doing in the class."

"This is my first year at ESU and I believe the programs are comparable to other state schools, but could be improved in some areas. Accessiblity of instructors is difficult at times due to their heavy workload"

"The program is excellent. But international student like me need more financial aid support or different options like work and study."

"Overall I really like my graduate program at ESU. I am extremely pleased with the competency and responsiveness of the professors in my department. The tuition is far from the highest throughout the country, given that I am an international student and have to pay more than residents, but I feel like the knowledge I am receiving here is sufficient to become a good professional. Unfortunately, there are not so many assistantship positions or grants for my particular major in terms of financial aid. The internship opportunities are provided in more remote areas as Maryland, but the pricing for it seems reasonable. So far I think that the generated overall grade is close to the way I feel about ESU."

"East Stroudsburg University is a good institution. The coursework is definitely challenging. However, if you are looking to go to Medical or Dental school, I would obtain a M.S. Degree at an institution linked to a Medical or Dental school. The courses would be more focused on your career goals and I feel admissions would take those courses in a greater consideration."

"Professors are great and always willing to help you succeed, most classes are online for the most part which gives you the flexibility to attend graduate assistantships without any schedule restraints but for me personally I learn most in the classroom setting. Overall it has been a great program so far."

"The program is well designed and implemented by a diverse faculty that is both approachable and available. The program is very challenging, but the faculty is very invested in helping every student succeed. There is limited financial aid, but the program is very affordable compared other graduate programs."

"The support and availability of the programs professors are incomparable. Coming from a big school for my undergraduate degree, I knew no one, but at ESU I always was able to contact professors with questions and the help I needed. It is because of them that I have succeeded as much as I have. Although the school itself is small and enrollment services is absolutely awful, I was willing to put up with those deficiencies so I could work with the History department."
