Degree: Political Science
Graduation Year: 2013

Job prospects after Eastern were really bad unless you're doing a medical related program. I think there are 3 reasons for this...Eastern's bad reputation amongst the business community, competition from better universities in the area (Gonzaga, Whitworth, and WSU), and Eastern Washington's lack of decent jobs (There is not 1 S&P 500 company based out of Spokane). If I had to do it all over again, I would not go to Eastern. After graduating, I had to beat the pavement for months for a decent job. In addition, the majority people I graduated with can't find a job or have low-paying jobs outside of the field they studied in (Bartender, Waitress, Sales Rep, etc.). I eventually went back to school at a private university and was getting good job offers the first semester! I was shocked.

Degree: Social Work
Graduation Year: 2013

The program adequately prepared me for my future graduate program and the internship to accompany it. All of the professors were helpful and knowledgeable in the field. I thought the educational component was great my only complaint from my time there would be the undergraduate internship where I was not challenged enough.

Degree: Communications
Graduation Year: 2011

The communications department at EWU is full of highly trained, educated and experienced instructors. Not only do they pass on their skills to you within the curriculum but they practice those skills with and on you to provide high quality education and interpretation of the skill.

Degree: Business Administration and Management, General
Graduation Year: 2012

Eastern Washington University is a great place for you if you have not yet figured out what major you'd like to take in the future. The small class setting gives you optimal interaction with your teachers and other students. I did not feel uncomfortable when asking a question in class, knowing that I was encouraged to do so.

Degree: Psychology
Graduation Year: 2016

Great programs for undergraduate degrees! Not as great for graduate degree programs. Great professors - very kind and willing to help you if you come to them. You need to be self motivated and go after what you want, since it is unlikely that they will offer you the information without you asking.

Degree: Clinical Psychology
Graduation Year: 2016

Eastern Washington University had a fantastic program. The classes I took were never too large, usually anywhere from 15-30 students per class. My teachers took the time with each student to make sure we understood the material and were engaged with classes. During my time there, I began working at a behavioral health hospital and have recently been accepted to a master of social work program.

Degree: Developmental and Child Psychology
Graduation Year: 2014

While Eastern Washington University is located in the small town of Cheney, the University itself does not mirror that small time feel. The Campus is robust and the student demographics diverse. It's also got the athletics in their football team and is only 20 minutes away from Spokane's night life. The psychology department is amazing! I did not start my undergrad initially at Eastern I was a transfer student and I was bringing way more credits than AA and I was really worried I wouldn't get all of them transferred equivalent. After connecting with the director of the department all he needed were the syllabi from my previous classes to review and match up with Eastern's class options. Seamless transfer and overall great experience. Glad I transferred.

Degree: Dental Assistant
Graduation Year: 2016

EWU offers a fantastic online degree completion program for dental hygienists who already have an associates degree but want to pursue further education. Emilie has been my guiding light through registration and classes and any other concern or question that plagued me late at night. The curriculum is geared towards working dental hygienists and helps connect practicing with learning. I am a better clinical dental hygienist because of EWU and am continuing my education with them for my masters. I have and will continue to recommend EWU to any dental hygienist looking to complete their bachelors or masters of science.

Degree: Kinesiology and Exercise Science
Graduation Year: 1986

EWU had a stellar Human Performance Laboratory and amazing staff that helped me to fulfill my goal of working in this field of Exercise Science. I was able to apply what I learned in the classroom directly to the skills I needed working with clients in the laboratory setting. This enhanced my knowledge and understanding of the course content and skills necessary to find a job in this field.
