"Fordham University has a great graduate-level master's program. I graduated from the Public Communications program. The rigor and preparation that I received served me well in my career. I graduated in 1996, at the time I felt the information and curriculum was cutting-edge. With all of the changes in technology, social and the cultural drivers of the current news cycle, I can only imagine how exiting the program is today. Thank you Fordham!"

"Must be a specific type of person to enjoy your time here. If you don't like living in a big city, it's not for you. If you are not familiar with the area, DO NOT CONFUSE THE BRONX WITH MANHATTAN. The "idea" of New York is Manhattan, not the BX. Rose Hill is a more typical "college experience" with college bars filled with frat types. Lincoln Center is similar to NYU- no real campus/filled with artsy folks. (I lived at both) The professors are quality, and the intelligence of the student body is certainly above average, however there is certainly a faction of students that have a little too much to prove. If you are interested in business/marketing, politics, or theology and know you want to stay in New York, Fordham is a great choice. Otherwise I would not recommend it."

"Fordham University's doctoral program in Education Leadership and Policy has provided students with the opportunity for students to discuss critical issues in urban education. The doctoral program gives students the ability to focus on theory and practice while maintaining high standards of learning. My decision to attend Fordham was one of the best decisions of my life."

"The degree program did not satisfy my educational needs. A lot of professors were excellent, I think the issue was the curriculum. There were not enough elective classes so I wasn't able to study the areas I was interested in. Quite a few of the required classes felt either unnecessary or as if they could have been taught in a shorter length of time than a complete semester. Upon graduating I immediately entered a certificate program which offered the skills I felt I was missing to be a competent counselor . The program also did not provide efficient support for career seeking. It could be due to issues with the MHC degree itself, regardless finding an internship and job was an extremely difficult process."

"Most of the communications classes were a joke and a lot of the professors had a "dead-inside" sort of feel to them. Almost everyone who lived in the dorm building did not seem to care about academics at all, so it was pretty hard to focus on school work while living there. Definitely not worth the money if you're majoring in a soft liberal arts field."

"The Fordham Master's in Social Work program is great! It is ranked #11 in the country. And I can see why. The faculty members are knowledgeable and accessible. Classes are interesting and engaging. My favorite class so far has been Social Policy where we discuss different policies that have been enacted around mental health, children and families, and civil rights. However, Fordham's program is a bit expensive. So I'd encourage anyone applying to seek out as many scholarships and grants as possible to decrease the amount of loans you'll need. Overall, I'm really pleased with my decision to enroll at Fordham. I know I'll be well prepared to become a social worker once I graduate."

"Fordham is a great community, you get to know a lot of people, the teachers are there to help out and the campus is beautiful. They made the start of the year very easy with the departments for social work field placement and the disabilities office was really helpful."

"I believe I received a good education from Fordham. It may not be Ivy League, but is academically stimulating and challenging (in a good way). The Lincoln Center campus is diverse and in a great location. The one thing the campus lacked was athletics. I'm not sure if there are tennis courts still on campus, but at the time there was no organized sports clubs, not even tennis."

"I feel that one of the pros of my program is its flexibility and convenience for a working psychologist. I also love the diversity and supportive nature of the other graduate students. There is a great sense of comradery. The faculty are also very supportive and accessible. They program has made very good use of technology in providing information and streamlining everything a student may need access too. The area is easily accessible by train (one block away) and is very near to Central Park (program is located at the Lincoln Campus) which makes for a great environment. One of the cons of my program may be the availability of scholarship aids and funding for students who are not full time."

"The pros and cons of attending the Graduate School of Social Services at Fordham University are quality higher education, friendly staff and beautiful and safe campus. However, extremely expensive such as tuition, books, public transportation. I absolutely love Fordham University and dedicated to achieving my educational goals."

"I transferred to Fordham from Emory Law School after my first year. I have found Fordham to be more competitive than Emory, and unlike Emory, Fordham has a mandatory curve for small classes. On the other hand, I find the classes at Fordham to be more challenging, and the teachers to be more approachable."

"The pros are the very important and informative education that is provided to the students of the MSW program. I have learned so much since I started at Fordham University and have made new friends who we assist each other when necessary for our assignments. The professors are helpful and are very understanding, at least to my own experience. There are not any cons that I could think of at the moment."

They make sure to always gather feedback for improvement and help us maintain support within the students. Though it is expensive, it is worth it. The professors are qualified, know their stuff, and push you past your limits to success."
