Degree: Medical Assistant
Graduation Year: 2014

I chose to attend Fortis College in high hopes that receiving certification and my RMA would help me find a career in the health field. After graduating I was extremely disappointed to say the least. The instructors are ok, I would say only one (clinical instructor) was amazing. She was in tune with her class, and showed great interest in her students' success. After our schooling we were to complete a 6 week "externship". The head of the Medical Assistant program who was in charge of that never seemed to be interested in the needs of the students, and just threw the students anywhere for their externship hardly researching the facilities. The office I was in was GHETTO and unprofessional. Mind you we were stuck there for 6 weeks. Every time I tried to find an externship on my own he would NEVER follow up with the facilities so I had no choice. I understand that it is the students job to work hard to find their own employment after the program, however we were fed all of these lies about how amazing career services at the school was. I applied for jobs of my own however, every single "lead" they gave me and interview they sent me on were at run down out of date doctors offices that seemed shady, that only offered minimum wage with no benefits. When I asked them to follow up with the jobs I applied for like I was told, they just made excuses like " Oh I don't have a connect for that office" or "I know I won't be able to get in touch with the employer". If that's the case why are you here? It was almost like they were just trying to reach a quota instead of actually trying to send their students that paid over 16,000 to attend a 9 month training program to solid legit doctors offices and/or hospitals. I just ended up working with the company I was employed with before Fortis. I wouldn't recommend this school to anyone. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY! Attend another training school!

This school is a scam. It is not what it seems when you first sign up. They are all nice and smiles in the beginning, but then as the semesters go on they treat you like s**t. All they want is money. Financial aid is a joke, some of the teachers are a joke, and the deans, haha. Wow, this school is a waste of time and i would never recommend it to anyone. Try another school. They are not very helpful when it comes to skills, all they do is criticize you, especially the Head Nursr for the Medical Assisting program. They are not as they seem. It's only 3-5 students in every class. Alot of people have left this school because it is a joke. They are very unprofessional and rude. DO NOT GO TO FORTIS COLLEGE IN RAVENNA, OHIO. Go to a different school.

I attended this school for the Medical Assisting Program. You could tell that the school was not up to date with their software or equipment, yet they charge 16,000 to be apart of the program. The instructors were not informative, they were never even in the classrooms or late, but they dock your grade for being 3 minutes late. The students were loud, played around, fought, they werent there to do work. It was like a middle school. I found my own externship, because the offices they were trying to send me to were just ghetto! I was very disappointed. I would not recommend this school or the staff to anyone.

Fortis College in GA is really good. Our medical assisting classes are taught by medical doctors, whom were medical assistants themselves. They have a A+ rating with BBB. The staff really care abd push you to succeed. My complaint is the lack of finanicial resources available to students. I also wouldn't recommend this school to anyone who wants to transfer credits. It is a school that helps you get in and out as soon as possible so you can get a job. This is why I joined the school so it works for me!

Going to this school was the BIGGEST mistake that I have EVER made. They will screw you out of whatever money they can and make sure that you have issues going to school anywhere else! I DEFINATELY WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS SCHOOL TO ANYONE. I wish I never even went here.

Oh and to add to my review if yiu have kids and have to miss days because they are sick the school will automatically fail you. It has happened to me and I had to repay out of my pocket and take all 3 classes over again.

It is total bull that every 6 weeks you are only allow to mis 4 days so if your kid has like pneumonia or had to get mri's of his brain like mine did they do not care!!! Automatic fail

Ok This school sucks, a big scam not only only do you pull out a loan to pay the 15,000 dollars and a pell grant which by the way they take all your pell grant. You also have to pay from like 50-90 dollars out of pocket every 6 weeks when a new mod starts which is STUPID!!!

I went to the one in Pensacola, yes a few teachers were nice , and helpful , but the career service she does not get back to you when you call or leave voice mail, and when you email her she is a bitch saying she won't talk over the phone. I am glad I am done with this school.

I still have not heard back from her to re take my ncct test I have called and called and left voicemails for about a month now. Truth this school is a scam. I wished I would have just went to a normal college where credits transfer to get my associates degree in this instead.
