This is the worst school ever. hard to get a job when you graduated st school ever. they don't care about the students, just your money. they are not accredited even though they said they were. they are four times more expensive thatn the other school in the area. skip it at all course. there is an administrator there called ms. folkers or something like that and she is a true sadist. a very sick individual.never, never waste your moeny here. THEY ARE NOT ACCREDITED!!!!!!!!! nobody will hire you!!!!!! not other school will take their credits!!!!!!!
Please do not waste your time attending this school. They are not about education but solely money. A complete disappointment.
Fortis College Cutler Bay is a very welcoming school. The staff is extremely helpful and are about the students. I am currently a nursing student. The professors are willing to meet with you whenever you need help. The school offers night time classes which is extremely convenient for those who work. You are able to finish within two years.
I DID MY STUDIES AT FORTIS COLLEGE TO BECOME A CERTIFIED PHARMACY TECHNICIAN AND IT TOOK ONLY NINE MONTHS. THE SCHOOL IS VERY NICE AND THE HANDS ON TRAINING IS GREAT BECAUSE YOU FEEL LIKE YOUR ACTUALLY IN THE WORK PLACE BECAUSE OF HOW THE PHARMACY LAB IS SET UP. THE PROFESSORS ARE EXCELLENT AND I LEARNED A LOT FROM THEM AND MY EXPERIENCE AT THE SCHOOL WAS AWESOME. I WOULD RECOMMEND MY FRIENDS OR STRANGERS TO THE SCHOOL. THE WHOLE STAFF IS NICE AND I ENJOYED IT AND AT THE SAME TIME I MADE NEW FRIENDS.
I truly believe my success at passing the NCLEX, for the first time and with only 75 questions, is due to the Kaplan review and resources provided. Kaplan is created based on the NCLEX and is extremely similar to the style of questions and how the questions are worded. I highly suggest continuing with Kaplan! Also, Roy Hamlin is a great resource. He takes his personal time out of his day and helps students succeed and creates an unique plan for each individual person. If you go to him for help, he goes above and beyond his duties. Through out my time at Fortis I enjoyed the smaller classroom experience and the professors that truly connected with the students and provided great resources. The professors that truly helped me through my time, showed they cared, and had an understanding of the struggles students go through, as well as providing support and inspiration. the professor that stuck with me and touched my heart are Professor Cruz, Aroacha, and Dozier. These professors truly have an enormous amount of knowledge and their deliverance technique is stupendous.
I have been enrolled at Fortis College for two years; I am now at the end of the program. I used to work in the nursing field back home, but when I came here, in this Big Country where the language is different, the laws are strict, and multiple cultures are interacting, I realized that I had to go back to School in order to be able to adapt and continue practicing my Profession. I was looking for a School that could help me carry out my goals and I found Fortis College that is located at 3 minutes from my house. So far, I can say that this School fit my needs. Not only it implements a tough program which can prepare the students for a successful career, but the people who compose the staff are also very nice and responsible. I have wonderful experiences with them, especially Dr. Lisa Evoy (the Dean of Nursing). While I am at the school as student, I am also a mother of two small kids and I work full time (40 hours, five days a week). I am so busy that I feel overwhelmed sometimes and asking if I will survivre; however, the Dean is always there to encourage me to go foward, she always shows understanding when I go talk to her. She is very supportive and she often tries her best to satisfy student requests. I recommend Fortis College, my School, to anyone who wants to become a professional in the nursing field.
I attended Fortis College in Cutler Bay, Florida and its the worst school anyone can attend. The administrative staff like financial aid and student services are great people but the Dean and the majority of the professors are a problem. Back in June 2014 a group took the HESI exit exam which is the last nursing exam one has to take to be able to graduate and the entire group ADN and BSN somehow found the answers and cheated and all scored almost perfect scores. Then came time to take the NCLEX and no one passed until in the past recent months after intense boot camp a little bit less than half passed the NCLEX. Because of this group every one after them has had to suffer and have to endure the hardest HESI exit exams there are. The June 2014 group got Version 1_D and since apparently there are 6 versions to this exam, we were given versions 3 retake 4 and those that didn't passed and had to retake it, on their second try they got version 4 retake 4! like c'mon how in the world you are going to be giving retake exams to students when you haven't even given them the chance to take the initial exam of each version?! This school is a total mess, they are extremely short staffed, they hardly have any clinical sites, up until I finished in September they only had 2 clinical sites and one of them was going to be the last time the school was going to be allowed to send students. On top of it all THEY ARE NOT ACCREDITED so if you decide to transfer to another school guess what? you aren't going to be able to transfer credits and continue your education you are GOING TO HAVE TO START ALL OVER AGAIN!! Please save yourself your money and most importantly time which is what you will never get back.
Pathetic!! We have had an instructor leave during the semester every quarter. The administration at the Westerville ohio campus blames the students for everything and has totally forgotten that we the students pay their salaries. We teach ourselves the material because the instructors they do have either don't speak English or read off of powerpoints and test on subjects that are not taught. The clinicals consist of the students standing around or making ice cream sundaes for 8 hours. The lab has non working equipment and the instructor has admitted she has never done some of the required skills on a live person.
I chose to attend Fortis College in high hopes that receiving certification and my RMA would help me find a career in the health field. After graduating I was extremely disappointed to say the least. The instructors are ok, I would say only one (clinical instructor) was amazing. She was in tune with her class, and showed great interest in her students' success. After our schooling we were to complete a 6 week "externship". The head of the Medical Assistant program who was in charge of that never seemed to be interested in the needs of the students, and just threw the students anywhere for their externship hardly researching the facilities. The office I was in was GHETTO and unprofessional. Mind you we were stuck there for 6 weeks. Every time I tried to find an externship on my own he would NEVER follow up with the facilities so I had no choice. I understand that it is the students job to work hard to find their own employment after the program, however we were fed all of these lies about how amazing career services at the school was. I applied for jobs of my own however, every single "lead" they gave me and interview they sent me on were at run down out of date doctors offices that seemed shady, that only offered minimum wage with no benefits. When I asked them to follow up with the jobs I applied for like I was told, they just made excuses like " Oh I don't have a connect for that office" or "I know I won't be able to get in touch with the employer". If that's the case why are you here? It was almost like they were just trying to reach a quota instead of actually trying to send their students that paid over 16,000 to attend a 9 month training program to solid legit doctors offices and/or hospitals. I just ended up working with the company I was employed with before Fortis. I wouldn't recommend this school to anyone. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY! Attend another training school!
If you want a serious opinion and experience you will read this review. This school is a joke and only wants your money and put you in debt. If you decide to attend this school, I guarantee that you will be highly disappointed. The nursing program has a witch for a director of nursing and she is Satan himself. She is rude, uncoof, nasty attitude, has a record of 22 cases of abuse in Michigan and lost her license for 5 yrs., if you don't believe me, look her up. (Edna B. Wilkerson). She is a liar, fake, insensitive, non compassionate and all around the worst don I have ever came across. How can a school allow a person to be over their nursing program with charges of abuse on her record. :-( I am telling you to run and run fast. The school has programs that are not accredited, they have teachers teaching that are not licensed with the State, they do not help, they lie about the programs, they do not communicate, the students are kept in the dark, they have previous and upcoming lawsuits against them. Do your research before going to this school. Don't be fooled or lied to no matter how good it sounds. I strongly advise you to choose another school, you will not regret it in the end.
