"At McDonough school of business, we all take pride in the very collaborative culture here. Academically its a very strong and intensive program with great focus on leadership and ethics. The new dean revamped the program and put in on track to be one of the best programs in United States. We take having fun very seriously and there is beer and pizza to unwind every Thursday. Also, being in Washington D.C. provides great networking opportunities and rub shoulders with who and who of business and politics. As for cons, D.C. is pricey, so consider your living expenses while making the decision. Also few students might find the academic environment too intensive to their taste."

"McDonough is a great program with a great community! The staff and faculty have created a quality environment - but the students really make the school wonderful! A great network for now and the future."

"Pros: Great student community, tons of support from classmates, rigorous academics and easy access to professors, location in DC, heavy student involvement in clubs/extracurriculars, strong leadership from the dean and general sense that school is moving upward in the rankings Cons: somewhat disjointed administration and career services, does not leverage employer network as much as it should, noncompetitive financial aid vs. other schools, tough academics sometimes considered more important than the career search"

"This is a great program for anyone who is switching function or field. Classes encourage you to draw upon and use your previous experience as well as give you new tools. In general, you will not end up an industry expert but will be comfortable entering most careers you choose. The school focuses on finance and consulting (especially the career office), but also provide a lot of strong academic background in marketing, strategy, operations, and entrepreneurship. If you are not coming here for your one of the two core tracks, be prepared to be resourceful. The resources are there, but you will need to be a lot more proactive."

"Like most MBA programs, the Georgetown MBA FT program is academically rigorous; especially in the first semester. For students without any prior business background or coursework, taking the Accounting, Finance, and Statistics courses at the same time may seem daunting. Thankfully, many classmates will be super friendly CPAs and former Corporate Finance execs eager to help. The collegial atmosphere extends to career development, where we are known to collaborate to help each other prep for interview sessions even when competing for the same position. We believe in a positive karma! The Georgetown network (even beyond the business school - incl undergraduate and SFS alumni) is incredible and students are generally able to contact and network with alumni from other graduate programs for job placement purposes."
