"I was so eager to join Georgetown's PRCC program. However, after taking several courses, I decided to withdraw. The professors were completely disengaged from the coursework (the problem with having instructors who work full-time jobs), the coursework didn't seem relevant to real-world careers, and, ultimately, I felt like it was a waste of A LOT of money. If you have no background in PR or Communications, this program might work for you. But it is positioned as being great for career advancement, and the program administration specifically told me that those with several years of experience would benefit. I had about 8 years of experience going into the program, and I don't think I learned anything new or applicable to my jobs. The problem was not just the coursework but the professors' seeming lack of interest in the material and in their students. I received such little feedback on my work. I actually had one instructor who 1) completely failed to discuss my midterm with me after scheduling a phone call 2) never posted additional readings that the class repeatedly requested and 3) posted multiple grades on quizzes without any feedback or comments, even after I asked. If you just want a master's degree to boost your rsum, I'm confident you could find a better one for much less money."

"I enjoy that the Public Relations and Corporate Communications Masters of Professional Studies program is interactive and hands on. The course selections are extremely tailored and industry specific. The program allows its students to apply the skills learned in real life industry settings. Georgetown has a excellent network of public relations professionals that come back to lecture and provide industry insights. There are also a variety of professional development workshop to prepare students for the workplace. The program caters to working professionals, so most classes are in the evening. This does not allow for much scheduling flexibility."
