"Georgetown's best assets are its faculty, location, and the career network it helps its students tap into."

"The Arab Studies program in the School of Foreign Service is a challenging interdisciplinary program with great faculty and staff. The program allows you to develop your own interests by taking courses from a variety of departments at the University, which also gives you ample opportunities to build relationships with other students and professors from different disciplines. Highly recommended."

"The Master of Science in Foreign Service Program is an extremely challenging interdisciplinary program in international relations. However, the location of the school, its top rate practitioner faculty and its huge alumni network give you unparalleled access to the best and the brightest and there are ample opportunities to develop skills, interests and divergent career paths. Highly recommended."

"-Many of the teachers care. -Course catalog is huge, but many of the courses are large and half-undergrad"

"The quality of the academics and the professors are excellent, but as a graduate student the expensive living and poor transportation system weighs negatively on the university. However, this is not exactly the fault of the program. Local government in Georgetown limits public transportation options and the university does its best to accommodate the students. Furthermore, attending any school in an urban environment is expensive. I just wish Georgetown had a larger endowment to offer more financial aid."

"I am in the School of Continuing Studies. They just moved the school to a beautiful new building in Chinatown. The classrooms are state of the art! All of the classes area taught by industry professionals and they will make the time to ensure that you understand the concepts and relate them to current events/trends"

"I love Georgetown! It's very competitive with a high level of workload but it's always challenging and exciting. There are the most accomplished professors and classmates I've ever encountered. There is also a large amount of career support."

"This program is academically excellent and comes with a great network. It is, however, extremely expensive and may not be advisable for someone who wants to work in public service."

"Pros: Georgetown is a great academic setting with a reputation for excellence that is well deserved. The quality of education and career support is extremely high as well as the accessibility to the faculty. There is also an atmosphere of healthy academic competition that pushes students to better themselves, yet always in a collaborative way. Overall, I'm extremely happy about my Georgetown experience! Cons: The cost of living in the areas around campus is very high as is tuition with financial aid traditionally only consisting of loans. More grants and scholarships are a must. The workload is high but no more than any other grad school program."

"Tell us about your college experience.Georgetown University was definitely a good fit for my personality, future endeavors (personally and professionally), upbringing. Coming from a small city in South Texas, my exposure to different social and cultural groups was limited. Georgetown opened my eyes, and heart, to a diverse nation and international community that I had not yet experienced.Would you get the same degree if you could start over?I would choose the same degree of International History as the coursework prepared me for graduate work in the MA Latin America Studies program. What advice can you offer other students? If possible, visit all colleges/universities that you are interested in applying and (even more importantly) serious about attending for your 4-year experience. Each visit was the "make or break" in my decision-making as I explored the campus community and surrounding city. I asked the following question; "Do I feel at home here?""

"Georgetown's LL.M in taxation is a nationally recognized program and ranked at #2 in the US by US News. Top four accounting firms as well as law firms recruit directly from Georgetown. Georgetown University Law Center is also located a few steps away from the United States Capitol, the Supreme Court as well as many other famous monuments and historic buildings. Such a convenient location and access to top alumni network in the area all come at a high cost. Apartments and other types of housing in the DC area bears the expense double to what it costs to live in for example Houston or Dallas. For students who are ambitious yet don't have the means to afford such housing must rely on financial aid such as loans or scholarships in order to pull themselves through such discouraging situations."

"Georgetown University carries a lot of respectability in the name alone. The medicine program is a strong one, with most students matching into their top three choices in residencies that are very renowned. The curriculum is structured very well, besides being rather lecture based, but the the professors are mostly excellent. They do a great job in teaching clinical skills and letting students gain a lot of patient contact exposure. Living in DC is a major bonus, and although the Georgetown area is slightly lacking in transportation, it is fairly easy to explore such a vibrant city."

"This is a very prestigious school and program. The professors really care about the students and they are very knowledgable. However, the program itself is extremely expensive, and they aren't the best about financial aid. They do secure federal loans based on FAFSA but it's difficult to determine how to secure fellowships or research positions. BEST ADVICE: Contact professors before arriving."

"Georgetown Law is separate from the main campus, which gives it a unique feel and better location for jobs/cultural events but it is right next to the homeless shelter and in the middle of the city, so it is a little less safe as well. The education can't be beat though; professors and peers are all brilliants, and you learn so much and have so many opportunities. The career advising and networking opportunities are amazing as well. Definitely a fabulous choice for law school."
