"It's competitive, but no one is trying to sabotage you. The career services are fabulous."

"The MSFS program at Georgetown is an excellent education with excellent career services. There are also perfect internship opportunities in DC. The downsides are affordability (Georgetown has a very small endowment so it can't offer a lot of scholarships,) and a high cost of living throughout DC."

"Program is committed to helping students find work after graduation, but the area of social sciences that I am studying are misunderstood and therefore require a lot of explanation during networking or job interviews."

"Georgetown Nurse Anesthesia Program is very competitive. The program is taken very seriously and promotes a high standard of learning. The program has a very high attrition rate, 100% certification passing rate, and 100% job placement. The DC area has a high cost of living and the program is fairly expensive; however, you are paying for a highly reputable school and program. GU NAP is one of the only programs that offers a cadaver lab for anatomy and anesthesia lab. The nursing school is integrated with the medical school as needed to promote a high level of education."

"The Georgetown Grad program which I am in, the Masters of Public Policy and Homeland Security, is a great program academically and in terms of all the great things you will learn. The courses really make you think, the professors are great, and the campus is nice. However, the courses are extremely expensive and they do not give very much financial aid, so each semester I find myself only being able to take one class at a time and relying solely on outside scholarships to fund my continuing education."

"There are lots of career opportunities that come to us naturally because we are Georgetown. The intensity of the quantitative workload is a lot, and useful. The people in the program are great--work hard/play hard attitude. It is a very collaborative group as well."

"GUSoM has fantastic clinical training, a strong history of matching students in competitive residency programs, and an incredibly supportive faculty and alumni network. The costs are high but are worth it if GUSoM's strengths are leveraged by the student."

"GPPI is a rigorous program that is very quantitatively focused. Classes are demanding, but you learn a lot. Being in DC offers a lot of opportunities that you wouldn't get in any other city. The Georgetown network is expansive and can help you get highly sought after internships and jobs. The student body is not very diverse, but is generally very accepting."

"My particular program is very career oriented, but not all of them are. The faculty is always very accessible for questions and meetings, or for talking about final projects or future goals. The work load is heavy, but there are people who work full- or part-time jobs."

"Georgetown offers a wide range of courses that appeal to just about any interest- from government, the sciences, performing arts, law and business. Class Work is challenging yet engaging, but the professors really want students to think outside the box and challenge the status quo. In addition, I was pleased to find that a decent number of courses actually have small class sizes which means more personal interaction with instructors."

"Deciding on where to attend college is a major decision - it can affect where you live, work and who you meet in the future. I am extremely satisfied with my decision to attend Georgetown University. Located in the Nation’s capital, Georgetown is a hub for intellectual talent and interesting people, and a beautiful city! Georgetown offers a wide range of courses that appeal to just about any interest- from government, the sciences, preforming arts, law and business. Classwork is challenging yet engaging, but the professors really want students to think outside the box and challenge the status quo. In addition, I was pleased to find that a decent number of courses actually have small class sizes which means more personal interaction with instructors. Overall, Georgetown is a great environment to learn, grow and meet very cool people. There are always student-focused events going on around campus each day and tons of student-led organizations that make it easy to get involved on campus. It is also a plus that the university is (in my opinion) in one of the best cities in North America! If you’re struggling with the daunting task of narrowing down your college search, I would definitely recommend Georgetown University as it will always feel like home."

"Georgetown is a generally good place for graduate studies, but mixes some excellent qualities with some difficult ones. DC is a nice city to live in, but Georgetown's housing and public transit options are paltry and expensive for a graduate student stipend. There are many wonderful faculty members, but it is often hard to form direct relationships with them and get them to invest in graduate student work."
