"Georgia Southern is in a kind of country area. It has been very difficult for me to get around when I needed to. However, the "isolation" of this city is what allows me to be so successful in my studies. The atmosphere here is conducive for studying. I love the campus. We are definitely technology savvy as there is at least one computer lab in nearly every building. The campus is very diverse but is also comfortable and social. There are plenty of places to study, whether it be by one of the lakes or in a private study room. The faculty are very friendly and helpful. We probably offer the same amount of graduate assistantships as most schools; however, in my particular program, there were fewer students than in bigger programs so I was able to get an assistantship to help cover expenses. Housing down here is good. It can get expensive depending on where you choose to live, but you have plenty of cheaper options. Finally, as with any school, you get as much as you put in. Our teachers are very knowledgeable. The classes are both challenging and beneficial, and you have plenty of resources to make it through alive!!"

"Georgia Southern University was originally founded as a college for teachers so it goes to say that it is probably one of the best in the state when it comes to teacher education/training. But what is the biggest pro is the same pro for any program at Southern, you get the same education here as you would at a bigger institution without all the hassle and without the feel of those big institution. The class sizes are moderate to small and the professors make themselves available as much as possible instead of depending on grad assistants to handle everything. I would have to say that the only con is the surrounding area. While it is beautiful, it doesn't offer much in terms of entertainment. There are a few venues but the majority of the social life here is maintained in the bars."

"I have enjoyed my experience at Georgia Southern so far. The campus has wonderful facilities and I have great access to my professors. The local is rual so there is not always alot to do but thats ok because I spend most of my time in the library."

"There are so many resources at Georgia Southern and the Faculty is dynamic. I'm getting a top tier education and a strong network in the process. I'm grateful to be in this program at this school."

"The graduate program for mathematics is very good. It is a developed program with plenty of course options, as well as research/thesis options. My concentration, which is Scientific Computing, is a work in progress as the proper classes for the program are not yet available. They will be soon, however. The faculty are very kind and patient, and go out of their way to assist and encourage students. You can always find help from someone here, and that is always a plus. You will NOT receive the amount of help that get here from any other graduate program!"
